Noting Other Relatives as Faculty

My great-uncle, whom I know very well and am close with, was on the Engineering faculty and went on to become Director of Undergraduate Studies at a CC Top School (non-Ivy). I would like to use this rather high connection to my advantage, but since he didn't actually attend the school, I can't list him as an alumnus relative. How might I let the adcoms know of my relation to him? Would it be appropriate to include in the application?

I would like to join your question. My D is applying to a college where my husband (and her farther) was a faculty member. He left six years ago, but she actually grew on that campus and dreams of coming back. Is there a way to use the connection? The school is very competitive, within top 12, so I would like to raise her chances. Also, she needs to explain why there were no campus visits.

same here, my father used to work at this university that im appying to. do past connections not including alumni relations help?

Will anyone help us?

Isn't this why every application has a section for "additional information"?

Handyandy: There is an additional info section on the common app, but not on the school supplements. I suppose I could make a specific Common App version for X University and note it there. I'm just wondering if there is something that people usually do in this situation.
