Are there any juniors/future seniors looking into applying to ND this fall?! I know I am and I can't wait!! Go Irish!!

You know it!

Same here!!! I want to go soooo bad! It’s my dream school

Ayeeee!!! Haha it’s my dream school as well!! I hope we all get in #FightingIrish18

Me too! I can’t imagine myself anywhere else!

how do you all think your chances are?

I’m not ready to post my stats yet but uhhhh…to be honest, this school is my reach. I love ND so much but I don’t feel like I’m gonna get in.

@Awilo13 I guess this applies to everyone too: You can make ND happen. Get in touch with your regional rep. They’re listed on ND’s admission website. Tell them ND is your first choice, showing interest in the school is key. Also, for the ACT/SAT…practice. Take practice tests, it helps. Talk to your counselor at school to think about what classes you want to take next year to show to ND. When you write your college essay, be yourself. Get as much advice on it as you can though. Have 3+ people read it. Bottom line is: it’s going to be hard work. But if you do the legwork and have the will to get in, you will be just fine.

Thanks. I’m in the IB program so I think I have the rigorous part down. It’s just that my grades started to slip when my dad lost his job during my freshman year. We went through ALOT and it impacted my grades. I’ll have to look into talking to my regional rep. Sorry for my ignorance but our regional rep is the one who looks at our apps & determines our admission?

I think ND is a reach too. My question is how to do we contact out regional rep and what should we say?

I know right! I’m from Texas and mine is Mr. Gilbert Martinez. Another regional rep Mr. LeShane Saddler, who is also the African-American recruitment guy has emailed my mom about ND and stuff…(yes, I’m black lol).

what kind of questions should I ask my regional rep?

I’m applying for the class of 2018 too! Getting in means everything to me, but I definitely feel like its a reach. I think I’m going to email my regional rep this summer too. I’ll probably just send him my resume, show my interest and ask if he thinks it’s better to apply early or regular based on my stats.

Yeah, same here.

Awilo13, LeShane was my regional rep, and he is the BEST!!! When I visited before I got accepted, he sat down with me and talked to me for a while. We talked about my home state, and we talked about a man who graduated from my high school and went to ND a while ago. Apparently LeShane knows him very well. It was a very nice personal touch, and he made ND feel so much more like a home than an institution. LeShane also sent me a hand-written card several weeks after I was accepted. In the card, he told me which parts of my application were his favorite and that he really hoped I would choose ND. That was another great personal touch. I didn’t get any hand-written mail from any other schools!

As far as finding your regional rep, look on the admissions website. It lists all the admissions counselors and the regions they represent. If you’re wondering what to say, just let them know that you’re a junior who is interested in Notre Dame and that you would like more information about ND and the application process. Ask them what they look for in students. Ask them how you can learn more about ND.

Best of luck to all you aspiring Irish. I hope to see you all in a couple years!

Aw yay! That’s good to hear. From what my mom has told me, he’s really nice and understanding. I’ll try and talk to mine. I’ll probably email him later (like in April) since I know they’re all so busy with looking at applications and making final decisions

All these admission decisions are making me nervous for next year lol

Oh same here, it’s crazy to think this will be us next year!

I know right!!

I’m a little late to the party, but I think I will be applying also. My only worry is that I am a pretty big nerd (although I do play football very well). I don’t have a good list of EC’s because I have mostly been playing video games or hanging out with friends my entire high school career. All I have is the scores, GPA, and I’m a good writer. I am worried.
