Here’s a thread for all of us waitlistees to vent about waiting.
Are there any CC members out there staying on the waitlist? If I don’t get off the waitlist at Notre Dame, it’s the University of Wisconsin for me.
I’m on it as well.
Last year they admitted a whopping 0 out of 806 kids so I’m trying not to get my hopes up too much.
They actually did go to the waitlist last year and I think admitted between 50 and 100. A student from my daughter’s school was pulled off the waitlist last year. That being said, two years ago they did not admit any students from the waitlist.
The common data set for ND must be off. I agree with @ejcclc … although the common thought is that 0 were admitted from last year’s wait list, I know of one who was and I know of a freshman who says several in his dorm were admitted of the wait list. They do go to the waitlist! 3 years ago… the CDS say 86.
Both my roommate and I were pulled off the waitlist last year… ND typically pulls 30-50, I think it was the year before mine they pulled none.
For once I’m more than glad to be wrong!
I was reading an article about how hopeless the waitlist was and it mentioned how nobody got in from Notre Dame, but on a second look it turns out that the article was from two years ago. That definitely makes me more hopeful.
The incoming class of 2017 did not take any students off the waitlist, but they definitely went to the waitlist for the class of 2018! Good luck to you.
Has anyone heard how many are currently on the waitlist? Has anyone called or emailed and asked for any specifics of this year’s W-L?

calls started being made may5th of last year, then another wave around the 17th(I think?) you can check about the second wave but my call came on the 5th. Best of luck everyone!

It was after school, sometime between 5 and 7? not sure of the exact time.
@skipper26 my daughter heard that she was accepted off the waitlist via phone call from her admission rep at school around 2 PM PST. This was in 2012, she is now a Jr in the class of 2016. She saw the area code on her phone (it was on silent) and then went to the bathroom to call back!
I just called the undergraduate admissions office and they said that “everyone” on the waitlist will get an update tomorrow through email. I’m worried that this means they’re informing people that they won’t be using the waitlist this year if that’s the case… Anyone know what else that could mean?
Oh no, that doesn’t sound reassuring. Has anyone else heard anything?
From what I can tell by reading past threads, ND has always made notification of decisions (including closed waitlist situations) by snail mail.
Just got an email saying they will not be using the waitlist this year; enrollment exceeded expectations

My DD got an email today that said they could not offer admission. The email said they exceeded their goals. I’m guessing they may not have gone to the WL at all??? @FriendlyNerd888 and @bball224
