Notre Dame 2021 Waitlist

I’m starting a discussion for all of us who are anxiously awaiting final decisions from Notre Dame after receiving an offer to be put on the waitlist for the class of 2021. Good luck to everyone!!

Thank you @anicole45 for creating this thread! I was waitlisted at ND as well, applied regular decision.

Deferreded then waitlisted :frowning: but im grateful for a chance to still get in even though its slim…

Kinda wish they would’ve just rejected me and ended my suffering

@a20171 I get what you’re saying but you’ll be singing a different tune if you get in tho

Statistically it doesn’t look good, some years ND has taken 0 from the list. Sigh. All the expert articles I have read say move on.

I know the chances are slim, but I’m still glad that we all have a chance to get into our dream school

Do people want to share their personal admissions information? I was ACT 34, 3.9 GPA tons of clubs, community service, sports for half of my high school years. NOT legacy. No music, instrument of singing abilities.

Wow there’s more than one year they took 0 off the waitlist? :frowning: depressing

My stats for those curious:
34 ACT, 3.98 uw/4.3 w GPA, 10 APS, lead varsity XC/track runner, dressage, ~250 volunteer hours, NHS, Key Club
some other stuff
No hooks, no music, no sh*ts given

My stats for those curious: 35 ACT, 3.85 UW/4.18 W, 6 APs, Captain of golf team, leading a religious retreat, NHS, abundant demonstrated intrest

Never give up. U have to look at your other options but u never know. Many years ago I was deferred then wait listed then denied from ND. 2 weeks before classes started they decided to let in 50 more women. I was accepted and decided to go. My daughter was deferred and now accepted. And she worked her butt off. I will be praying for all of u on the wait list as I know first hand how that feels!! Good Luck to all of u!

Thank you @mianaleigh it’s so nice to hear encouraging words at a time when it seems the whole world is crashing down

Your world will not crash in ! If u truly want to get in do well the first semester at the school u choose and then apply as a transfer student. Because of my situation I lived with a ton of transfer students . They got the same degree as the rest of us and it’s a little easier to get in as a transfer !! Remember never give up!!

Good luck to everyone on the wait list! Here are my stats for those who asked for them:
Waitlisted
Applied to Mendoza
ACT - 34
W GPA - 4.07
Good ECs - diverse and dedicated; athlete, yearbook editor, club founder, etc.
Legacy - my sister is a current student
Good Essays- wrote about my sister and how I wanted to kinda one-up her (in a funny way)
Good Recs

Is anyone considering writing a letter of continued interest?

I just wrote an email to my regional counselor tonight! However it wasn’t just about my interest in ND. From what I understand from previous cc waitlist threads, blogs, etc the applicants who stay in contact with their counselors are more likely to be taken off of the waitlist (if anyone is taken off that year)

@JDprospy I hope you get in! :slight_smile:

Sorry this might be a stupid question but I couldn’t find it in my letter, does anyone know when the deadline to accept a spot on the waitlist is?

Also, is there any disadvantages to being accepted off the waitlist (like not being able to get good housing or something like that)?

Thank you in advance!

Thank you @anicole45 ! I wish the same for you. It’s so nice to have others to go through this process alongside

@moneylove I’m not sure when we have to accept our spot on the waitlist by, but I don’t think there are any disadvantages to being accepted off of the waitlist, at least financial aid/housing wise.
I got the information from this page: http://admissions.nd.edu/connect/news/the-waiting-list/
