Notre Dame at Michigan State

What does everyone think? I'm too tired to type up everything I think about this game right now, but I'll share later.

Well, I am going up to East Lansing so it better be a good one. MSU caught us off-guard last year, but I don't think it happens again. They are no where near as talented as Michigan and I think the Michigan game will serve as a wake-up call to a few players (who will remain nameless) who got too big of a head and were not playing up to their potential. This is a statement game for ND, and I think ND shows up focused and takes care of business in East Lansing.

Keys to the game: O-Line performance, Walker running, containing Stanton

Prediction: ND by 17 (now that I think we can kick field goals)

Ok, well I am definitely less confident than you. Of course, we could nail 50 on this team if everything clicks. But there in lies the problem. So far there have been significant faults in the play of this offense alone. Key to the offense: Offensive line. As always, it starts here, but this year we seem to be having problems. There is no push, which allows for no running game, which allows for no release of pressure from the passing game. D Walk is better than everyone thinks, he just needs room. BRADY KEEP YOUR FEET STILL. That's all I'm gunna say about that.

Defense: What the hell is wrong with the safeties? Zibby I love you man but you were nowhere to be found to defend against Manningham. You guys bite on the play action, and it kills us. The key here: Defensive line needs to take care of business. That will work everything else out.

The Mich St kids will be drunk as hell for this night game and it'll be a tough enviroment. Many things need to go right for this game.

Prediction ND 28 MSU 17

Okay... I think ND will win mainly beacuse I dont think Mich State is any good.

But
* It will be a tough environment
* If the secondary plays like it did against Mich..... it will be close
* Quinn neads a big night.. and so does the running game

I picking ND 35-14 mainly because I dont think Mich state is any good

"I dont think Mich state is any good"

Seriously? Stanton and Trannon have the potential to rip us all night.

So did Ball and Johnson...

every player in D1 football have the potential to play well and "rip" us...... but Michigan State doesnt scare me

Even as a dyed-in-the-wool Spartan, I don't like our coach, John L. Smith, a little bit-- he's a dunderhead. But for some reason, we've had ND's number for the last 7 or 8 years (Bob Davie never beat us in his 5 years). Plus Drew Stanton is the best QB in the Big 10, period. Unfortunately, he can't carry the whole team, but I think MSU will beat ND in EL esp given this is Drew's swan song-- and the Wolverines seriously exposed you guys... GO STATE!

Drew Stanton can't carry the whole team...but state wins? It sounds like a contradiction to me. Keep in mind the weather should be rainy!!!

"Keep in mind the weather should be rainy!!!"

Which is what scares me. We don't have the O-line to play a in-the-trenches game.

"So did Ball and Johnson..."

Ok, well every team is different. If you thought that way last week I bet you were very surprised at the three Manningham touchdowns.

"every player in D1 football have the potential to play well and "rip" us...... but Michigan State doesnt scare me"

Actually, they dont lol. That's great that Mich St doesn't scare you, I wish I was thinking that way right now instead of worrying for the past week.

Michigan State is a good team, no doubt, but I think they are the weakest we have played so far. Do you disagree? Yes, they have one good receiver, but we have played much better receivers. Overall, they have far less talent than Michigan and perhaps the other teams we have played, that is close.

Yes, they are a good team and we should respect them, but they are not Michigan. Yes, they have a good receiver, but we have covered 1 good receiver before (plus they may not be passing anyways). On paper, I just don't see the concern, but we shall see who gets to say I told you so at the end of the day. I hope it is me and I think you do too :).

I was basically just trying to say.. that anything can happen in college football....and any team can just have a breakout day........

ryan1989....you will be okay and so wil ND

MSU scores quickly 7-0

secondary looks like they're playing in slow motion......again

Uhoh...MSU up 24-14. Notre Dame better buckle down and get with it.

Oh, by the way, did any of you catch the Arkansas/Alabama game?

wow...... 37-21...... I guess I should have been scared.... those two runningbacks for msu are pretty good

Bummer, I thought the Irish were supposed to be good this year. What happened? So far I have not been impressed...

I'm pretty impressed with them right now...

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
