Notre Dame at Michigan State

I think I'm going to have a heart attack What a game!!!! I'll never be able to sleep It was unbelievable .Great Job ND!!!!!

OMG!!!!!!! I take back everything I said earlier. That was AMAZING!!!! I don't think I have ever before seen anything quite as crazy as campus after that game. I LOVE Notre Dame!

We figured out two things with this game.

Michigan State is better than most thought.

The team has their heart back, now let's roll.

Further analysis to be posted later.

@ everyone who said we would have no problem with these guys:

Lol I'm not gunna say I told you so Irish68178. I had yalls mindset last year, and look what happened in that game. That is what most of my concern probably came from. If a couple of things worked our way in the first half, we may have taken the lead and yalls prediction would have been right and mine wrong.

I'm sure we are all glad we won and we will finally have an easier schedule from now until USC. Hopefully if we don't trip on one of these teams we can go into LA a 10-1 team.

WHAT A GAME. I was there until the very end and seriously, it ranks right up there with the USC game from last year. AMAZING! Being there, though it was awful with the rain, was unbelievable!

I can't believe I went to bed.

Hey Irish, my son was up there, too. I was feeling so bad for you guys, being forced to watch the Irish humiliate themselves for the second week in a row in that first half, especially surrounded by screaming, obnoxious Spartan fans (who are SO much more annoying than screaming, obnoxious Irish fans :) ). By the time the weather hit, I was thinking at least the Irish had shown their true colors enough to give some hope, but I didn't think it possible to overcome a 17-point deficit in the horrible weather conditions.

Then I started thinking, holy cow, my son is standing with 74,999 other people in these horrible weather conditions the announcers are talking about. We recently had a bad scare in Busch Stadium with crowds and weather! My husband wondered if our son had the common sense to have brought a waterproof coat. We both had a good laugh over that one. There are some serious elements of common sense that don't start kicking in until after 22!

I have to say the coolest thing had to be the sight of the players in the corner of the field, singing the alma mater (gonna have to learn the words to that one!) in chorus with a small, but happy student section. Were you in that crowd? What was it like?

I'd have to think all you Domers are now like little sugar-buzzed kids the morning after Halloween. (Skipping the sugar for a number of them, no doubt.) Do you think anyone on campus is going to be able to settle down enough to get anything done today?

Go Irish!

I think some could settle down, but for me I may not be able to do much due to lack of sleep; I got in at about 5 in the morning! I also was smart enough to bring a poncho, but about halfway through the game I got smart and tore it in half to share it with my roommate, who forgot to bring one. Maybe that common sense kicks in at 21.5, as we are both 21 but separated by exactly 6 months.

I was not in the student section, unfortunately, but rather had $70 face value (of course $125 my cost) tickets that were behind the endzone but up towards the top of the stadium. They were decent seats, not as good as the student section, but not bad. I was just thankful to be there and to have a few Irish fans around me though of course we were surrounded by MSU fans.

Ahh, it was amazing. To be honest, based on other games my roommate and I have gone to, a lot of the fans (especially the students) were really nasty. We were at the end of so many drunken insults I can't even count. At the end though, I think this win was the result of the student section chanting "overrated" BEFORE THE GAME BEGAN and then the whole stadium doing it at halftime. I guess they learned that that is why they play the game.

However, I do give the MSU fans credit for helping us find our way to our car, because we got really really lost! Overall, if you didn't bother their fans they weren't awful, but the students were sure to come up with you even when you were peaceful and let you know what they thought of you. Oh well, all is well that ends well.

Now to try to do homework...keyword try.

I can't believe I went to bed either.

I caught a cold last week so... I was pretty tired.

I still shouldn't have gone to bed.

I didn't see all these posts until now... Shellzie, I am glad to see you are learning the joys of ND football! It is awesome!

Ryan, I just was assuming that the team would show up for the whole game, not just a half :). Naw, you were right, but I was nervous before the game and I knew it would be tough. I just didn't know how we would come out, and man, that wasn't pretty. However, they showed A LOT of heart. What a game!

At least I got my overall prediction right :)

My hubby also went to bed in the 3rd quarter... I was so mad at him! I didn't say a word this morning and he opened the paper..."HEYYYY!!!"

Daughter is in the band and she said the young fans had plenty of comments to say to them, but the older fans/alumni were very nice. They couldn't find a water fountain before the game started and someone took them (they had on their full band uniforms) into an alumni event room and gave them bottled water. On the bus ride home, her voice was gone and she was soggy...but so happy.

Great game. Glad I stayed awake.

screw you

ND WINS! 40-37!!!!

les bit ches

I was sooo happy they won! We were talking about the Holy Spirit acting in our lives at Youth Group today and I used last night as an example. I ran around the house screaming and blaring the marching band CD after the game, I haven't been that happy in a long time:) Did you see the crowd's expressions? They were not happy campers.

Lets just say I had the Victory March blaring out of my car so loud that a cop pulled me over and told me that he could arrest me for public disturbance...... o well ...............I was all smiles and money in hand after making a bet at half time..........man the look on the spartan fan's faces........priceless
