Notre Dame Chances - Restrictive Early Action

Hi, I’m a rising senior looking to apply to the University of Notre Dame REA in November, and I’m uncertain of my chances. Notre Dame is definitely my first choice and dream school – though I know there are many, many applicants who would say the same thing. Here’s my basic information:

(Possible) Hooks:
-Dad graduated from ND '87
-Multi-Racial (Pacific Islander/Asian/Caucasian) URM?
-Geographic: applying from South Carolina
-Attending private school ranked 5th in the state
-Religious Affiliation: Roman Catholic
-Female (probably not a hook, but just wanted to add that)
-Attended ND Summer Scholars 2016 (in The Law track)

SAT (taken seven times, most recent scores below):

Grade 10: (old SAT)
-Critical Reading: 740
-Math: 570
-Writing: 650
Total: 1960 / 1310

Grade 11: (old SAT)
-Critical Reading: 790
-Math: 640
-Writing: 640
Total: 2070 / 1430

Grade 11: (current SAT)
-Reading & Writing: 710
-Math: 650
Total: 1360

As you can see, I struggle with math, and I’m really, really trying to improve my scores with the help of a math tutor.

Extracurriculars:
-Cross Country since 9th grade
-Soccer since 7th grade, captain of the JV team in 9th grade, Varsity goalkeeper in 11th grade and hopefully 12th grade
-Altar Server since 5th grade
-Youth Group
-National Honors Society
-Feminist Club
-Go Green Club
-Filipino-American Association

Internship/Work Experience: part-time cashier last summer, planning to assist at the pharmacy of a local psychiatric hospital this summer

Junior Year Courseload: AP Bio, AP US History, AP Language & Composition, Honors Spanish IV, Pre-Calculus
Senior Year Courseload: AP Physics, AP Government, AP Literature & Composition, AP Spanish, Honors Calculus

AP Scores:
US History - 5
Language & Comp. - 5
Biology - 3 (probably will not submit)

*My school doesn’t offer IB classes and offers AP courses to only Juniors and Seniors.

GPA (My school does not have a class rank and only reports our weighted GPAs to us)
-Grade 10: 4.1
-Grade 11: 4.3 (as of first semester)

This isn’t the entirety of my resume, but I think it gives an overview of my academic career thus far. I am absolutely in love with Notre Dame, but I’m also aware that my credentials may not be enough to get accepted. Please let me know if you think I have a chance or not!

Your gpa and course rigor are a match for ND, and you’ve got a lot of pretty good hooks. Try to raise your SAT score and get some leadership positions in clubs you are passionate about – then I would say you have a solid shot!

Also, chance me back?

i’m also applying to nd this fall! i would say your testing scores are definitely below average for nd though, but that doesn’t mean they can’t get better. your course load and ECs are pretty good though!
