Notre Dame Class of 2022 Accepted Students

Wanted to make a thread for all those accepted to Notre Dame for the 2022 class just because there a lot of events and important dates coming up and also because it’s a pretty great accomplishment so anyone that’s gotten in should jump on!

Anyone know when financial aid comes out?

idk if financial aid comes out at the same time for everyone but if anyone already received their regular decision financial aid, please lmk

We just received ours tonight. We really thought ND would be a long shot and out of reach… but now although still more than we can comfortably spend, wasn’t as much as we thought it would be. Now we are actually considering it 30 days before national decision day. Signed up for admitted students weekend… does anyone know if the student stays in the dorm for the overnight?

@Nb000791 @rururu Congrats on your admit! My son also applied RD but hasn’t received his FA package yet. Hope you get good news.
@2manycollegequestions4me Congratulations! It sounds like you had a good FA package, and I’m hoping for a pleasant surprise too.
I wanted to ask if you were referring to “Admitted Student Days” that run from Sunday to Monday? If so, I don’t think there is an dorm overnight component. The website has agendas for each date https://admissions.nd.edu/information-for/admitted-students/resources/visits-for-admitted-students/
If you were invited to Reilly Spring Visit, it specifically includes overnight component. There is a separate CC thread on this topic.
Go Irish!

@hafamama thank you! Was asking about the admitted student days (Sunday-Monday.) My daughter is a little unsure about fit, so an overnight would be helpful. She’s home on break this week— maybe she’ll call tomorrow and ask if it’s a possibility. Time is running out— that will probably be our last chance to get onto campus. Good luck getting your financial aid package!! I called and left a message today asking about it, and several hours later my daughter received the email. Worth a shot if you’re eager to know

@2manycollegequestions4me Thanks for the tip about calling the financial aid office. As for scheduling an overnight – why not? It couldn’t hurt to just ask, right? If you D goes get a chance to do so, be prepared for a lovefest on her return. My S did an overnight program a couple of weeks ago and came back really impressed with the school facilities, the students, and the teachers since he was able to sit in a couple of classes. This attitude is a change for him, because we did a campus tour over the summer and he wasn’t sold. After returning from the program, I can see that he likes the school a lot more now. Good luck!

@2manycollegequestions4me Were you able to get more information about a potential overnight for your D? At the very least, could she be “matched” with a student in her major, who could show her room and give a tour of her hall? From what my S told me, the students are super proud of their hall. There is no Greek life, honors dorms or “special community,” so the hall is it and (from his perspective) made for very tight bonds among the hallmates.
Just wanted to give you an update on my S’s FA package. He received the notice even before I got a chance to call. The package was a very pleasant surprise, and if you asked me, he should have committed yesterday.
But what do I know? :))

@hafamama that is great news!!! Congratulations!!! I did call last week about the overnight and they said they no longer arrange overnights for liability reasons. That said, I ended up cancelling the visit because after much thought and deliberation… she has decided and will be going to Kenyon! So many things to consider, but fit ultimately won out. She feels like Kenyon is a better fit for her. It’s where her heart has been all along—So glad to have this settled!

@2manycollegequestions4me Congratulations to your daughter!! <:-P

I’m so excited for everyone and their admission along with myself for the class of 2022. Go Irish!!
