I don’t believe that one has been made. I think people were just waiting until it gets closer to the date so no one posts in the gc that aren’t final results
@HM0527 @hpcsa I’m glad that it is a reflection of the university and at this point, I’m just hoping to receive good news before making any decisions on where to attend. I applied REA and Notre Dame has been my number one for as long as I can remember but it worries my parents financially. I wish I could say if I’m admitted I’d definitely be attending ?
@doctorunusual that is the same situation for me as well. hope to see you there next year!
Decisions are not sent out by mail so that would not really help for Notre Dame, but for other schools it might! You just gotta wait!
Hello friends! Does anyone know how much stock and puts into the high school you attend? My D’s school has sent kids to ND but it’s not like they’re rolling in every year…
@HM0527 I do believe that certain high schools might be favored over others. My son’s high school’s scattergram shows that last year 36% of applicants were accepted to ND (or 31% over the last 3 years), which is very encouraging. There is also a published list of college acceptances among 5 top public high schools in our area (2, and that list shows that among those five schools that 16% were accepted to ND last year. I look at these stats with a grain of salt, however, because things can change drastically from year to year!! These lists do not differentiate REA vs RD.
@WineLover thank you! D attends an all girl Catholic HS in the Midwest. So nervous!! Other than that darn ACT score (32) she has the GPA and all the other factors. I know it’s literally a shot in the dark with that “low” of an ACT but we’re still holding out hope.
Our D attends a Catholic HS where no students have been admitted to ND. She has nice test scores, GPA, will likely be valedictorian, is a NMS Semi-Finalist and has good, but not extraordinary EC’s. She’s taken 8 APs and, so far, has all 5’s on them. I think her essays were good but she is not a prolific writer. She has no “hook”.
Like others here, we visited ND and she fell in love. She’s been in Catholic school since preschool and she felt so comfortable when visiting and said ND felt like “home”, even compared to other Catholic colleges we visited.
She is a great person, first and foremost, and we are being mindful that no matter what, everything works out. God has a plan.
are we supposed to be getting the email today? obviously i would like to know when we’re gonna find out as soon as possible
@dancegirl28 Based on previous years, “mid December REA results” announcement e-mail will come out approx. one week before actual results will be posted. The announcement will be made by ND Admissions, once they have a good understanding when their REA work process is expected to be complete. If the e-mail were to go out today, this would suggest a possible 12/12 REA results announcement, a later announcement may suggest that ND Admissions does not yet have the expected REA posting date.
No email yet! I had my daughter check at 4 PM EST. She had already checked twice today!
The increasing number of REA applications may be influencing the specific timing of the REA decision announcement this year:
Class of 2022: 6,598
Class of 2021: 6,020
Class of 2020: 5,321
Class of 2019: 4,700
which represents an 40.4% increase since the ND REA program started (Notre Dame changed its early admissions program from Early Action to Restrictive Early Action in 2015), and last year was back at 2014 unrestricted early action application numbers. These numbers of early applications are directly comparable with, for example, Harvard’s SCEA program with 6,630 applications last year.
Class of 2023 ND REA applications are rumored to come in at well above 7,100 - in any case, ND REA decisions will be released during the second half of next week. Best of luck and success to all!
@hpcsa when you pay those stats I get ?
@hpcsa *POST ?
@HM0527 Thank you. Workload for undergraduate admission folks is incredible and selecting the right ND class from all of these very talented students is just extremely, extremely difficult…
@hpcsa oh I hope I didn’t seem insulting. I did not mean it like that at all.
Has the “student accounts” link always been on the portal?
@Tea4Two what do you mean?
@HM0527 When I look at the student portal, there are clickable links at the top - Undergraduate Admissions, Pre-College Programs, etc. I don’t remember seeing the one that says “Student Accounts”. But that doesn’t mean anything. lol I have a horrible memory and I haven’t looked at this stuff very much.
@Tea4Two ah ok. You about gave me a shiver ? I think it’s always been there.
