Been following ND admissions closely since the end of soph year, so I practically feel like a CC Notre Dame parent! :))
@doctorunusual I am a parent and had the same question. I was told the high school counselor will not allow a student to apply to more than one college ED or an REA school and an ED school. Iām not sure how larger schools keep track of all that, if that information is actually true.
@doctorunusual The Notre Dame Office of Admissions will find out and rescind any admission decision in this case.
Iām just a parent of daughter applying to ND, but my understanding is that while colleges are not aware of other schools to which youāve applied via the Common Application or otherwise, youāve signed a binding contractual agreement when you apply to a school ED. If you are offered admission to two schools in contravention of this policy and in violation of the contract which your school counselor, parents, etc have executed, there is a possibility that the schools could notify one another and your offers of admission could be rescinded. This was addressed during a Vanderbilt admission tour, and our high school counselor also discussed the embarrassment on the part of your high school when you play both sides.
I am the parent of two current ND students.
Iāve been admitted already through QB and my admissions counselor said that the electronics decisions are being posted sometime within the next 2 weeks and I should look for packets in the mail by Christmas.
Does anyone know when the acceptance letter is sent out for REA applicants. Iāve read that students applying to other schools have been able to sign up for USPS informed delivery and find out early based on the mail they are receiving. Just something I thought Iād throw out there.
@baileyj0 Congratulations to your admission to the Notre Dame Class of 2023! You are the first admit to post in the CC forum this admission cycle.
Congrats on being admitted. Dumb questionā¦what is QB???āāļø
Congrats on your match!
Many QuestBridge finalists who do not match immediately with Notre Dame in the first round are still admitted to the university through the Restrictive Early Action or Regular Decision admission program every year. The program is a win/win for both QB Finalists and Notre Dame.
I have one more correction to post #235. For class of 2022 and 2021 it appears that the email with the portal link came out at around 8:30 pm, not early evening. I found this information here on this discussion board on the old threads. So I think if it does happen today, it will probably be around 8:30.
@hpcsa ah ok. I had to look up QuestBridge. I didnāt know what that was.
Iām dying to know when weāll find out! Does anyone want to be brave and call the admissions office to ask?
Hey guys! I applied REA to Notre Dame. Do yāall think decisions will come out next Friday? Thatās what my college counselor predicts, but Iām not sure.
Based on past years, Iām pretty sure it will be next Friday the 14th, but I guess weāll see if we get the one week warning email tomorrow
The decisions will be posted at 18:42 military time in honor of being founded in 1842. They have done this the past few years but keep in mind they are eastern time.
do you guys think they might do what they did a few years ago and just send an email when the decisions are released? because on our applicant portal and the initial email they send you when you submit your application, it says mid-December so they might not send this āweek-beforeā email if it will just be repeating the same information.
@sj2019 that is EXACTLY what I think. Why send an email to say youāre sending another email a week ltr???
It definitely could be that! If we donāt get an email tomorrow would any day next week be fair game?
