I was able to register (if I wanted) from the link that you gave above. I would try again if I were you.

I’d like to think that means something but looks like everyone can log in

Yeah, it’s looking that way. I was hoping it might mean admittance. Haha

The Vanderbilt page is going crazy (or was for a while yesterday) bc some people got “access denied” but others had their info filled in, etc. like we all seem to be getting at ND.

Did you actually register for an event?

No, I didn’t want to do that since he’s not actually admitted. On the Vandy board people registered and got confirmation emails, etc. – I also didn’t want DS to get a confirmation email and assume he was in.

I think it’s best just to wait this really plays with emotions. Everyone will know soon enough.

I can register after I log in

People - I know you are all dying to know your status. I encourage you to be patient and don’t get yourself all worked up over these types of “hidden” signals. I have been on this board for roughly 4 years. The situation above happens in some form or fashion every year. Hang in there. Less than 48 hours now

What does it mean when there is a paper icon next to received and not a check on my Application Portal?

My son is a graduate of ND - Class of 2018. He loved his time there and it was truly a wonderful college to attend (Mendoza School of Business and did a double major in Finance and Applied Statistics and Mathematics). Hoping for my youngest (daughter) to follow in his footsteps and waiting for the regular decision round notifications to be released this Friday, 3/26 at 6:42pm (in military hours, it represents the year the school was founded). ND is the top choice for our daughter as well, so we have our fingers crossed and are praying. Good luck to you as well, your stats sound great!

For comparison, here were my son’s stats when he applied for entry for Fall, 2014 (my daughter’s are very similar to his):

  • Finished as HS Class Salutatorian - but, at end of junior year, he was either ranked #3 or #4 of his class. He finished strong his senior year.
  • Your overall SAT is slightly higher (he did score a 790 on Math portion)
  • ACT Composite of 33
  • 4.6 GPA in HS
  • 8 AP’s (4’s and 5’s)
  • Don’t remember his SAT subject test scores, but all were in the 700’s (he took 4 or 5 of them)
  • Catholic High School
  • Baseball team
  • Solid essays - common app, as well as ND specific questions - I read them recently and they still warm my heart!
  • Plenty of leadership and volunteer work
  • NHS and Foreign Language NHS
  • High Honor Roll all 4 years of HS (never saw a B during HS years)
  • President of Math Team
  • Chemistry and Physics Clubs
  • Subject Awards in AP Calculus BC, AP Language, AP Chemistry, Foreign Language, AP US History, and many other honors level courses throughout the 4 years of HS

Just that it is received. Most portals at my kids colleges they have applied to, have check marks or that “received file” icon. I think it is just the difference between what is required as part of the application and what is supplemental. Both indicated it has been received.

If you’re willing to talk, I would love to help you out if you ever consider transferring into ND. I am a 4th generation legacy and was denied 3 times before I was finally admitted. If it is really something you want, then I would consider going for it. Feel free to PM me,
