Notre Dame --> Investment Banking?

thanks for point #2. I realize that taking such things into consideration is especially important.

You can get IB from ND but it's going to be much harder than, say, 15 or 20 other schools that place much better.

Here's something joker will learn at ND:

Denial isn't just the name of a river in Africa.

aworldapart - Why the extreme bitterness every single time you post? Has some one offended you here or something or are you just like that?

lol he really seems to revel in bashing schools he deems subpar in terms of IB recruiting on wall street

He revels in bashing EVERYTHING....Jeez.....Like he has nothing better to do....

which college do you attend, aworldapart?

Not everything. I just bash on joker because he makes way too many posts asking the same question over and over again. All the experienced guys (i.e. lax and majayiduke) have already given their opinions that ND is NOT a target but the kid just won't let it go. He feels the need to bring up random numbers and links to try to corroborate his decision to go to ND. Bottom line, if you like the school, go. No need to make 902349 threads about the same thing.

I attend a school that's ranked much much higher than NYU. Does that answer your question?

Not really...NYU is ranked 34th, so there are several schools ranked higher than it.....i was just curious as to which school you attend, and whether or not you have interned anywhere etc so I could ask you a few questions I had about the recruiting process etc

To be honest, I don't feel comfortable sharing my school on a public forum. It's a good school though. I will be starting my internship with a top BB group in Global Banking in a few weeks. Please PM me with your questions as I will be happy to answer them.

Its not just this thread man....your bitterness is felt in several other threads too....I'm sorry if the world has been harsh on you....but stop venting.

he's a world apart from the reality of kindness and respect.

He may be blunt, but he's right. Its been repeated several times that ND is not a target school, get over it. You love the school and thats great. Get good grades and you'll get the job you want.

Is Northwestern or Georgetown a target school?

the posters here are correct to certain degree. The reality is that Ibank jobs are becoming increasingly more difficult to get as year goes on. It has always been a highly covetted job, and someone who's from a school that is non-target, even if that school may be a respectable college, will inevitably put that person at disadvantage. Just go figure that there are tons of people from Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Wharton, other ivies, Duke, and some other schools who are always vying for that ib job.

Also, the high school students on this board need to stop worrying about it this much. getting 3.8 is no easy feat. focus on getting top gpa and top ecs first, then worry later.

"BBs recruit heavily at the M7 schools: Harvard, Chicago, Stanford, Wharton, Columbia, Kellogg, and Sloan. Tuck and Yale SOM are recruited to a lesser extent."

Tuck is certainly as heavily recruited as Kellogg and MIT and probably more so on a % basis. Every BB IB recruits on campus there; so don't know how you can be more heavily recruited than that. From what I have seen, UVA, UMichigan, Duke also have more go into IB than Yale.

There were a couple people in my BB IB class from Notre Dame, although it wasn't necessarily one of the top 20 target schools. I would say only about 70% of the class is filled with people from schools that conduct on-campus interviews.
