By the way, just so you guys know this coming in, South is the better quad and South is where you want to be. The people on North will tell you that there is a reason the compass always points North but the problem is they think that they are the reason (and they got into Notre Dame?). I just want to give you a completely unbiased (yeah right) assessment and tell you that Notre Dame's best live on South Quad.

I heard alot of stuff about the N quad and S quad dining halls. My friends at Knott and St. Ed's prefer S dining hall b/c the people at N are apparently nazis about the food haha. btw which one has the "make your own pizza" and which one has the fresh cookies? i heard those 2 foods are the only real differences betweent the dining halls. btw the flex 14 meal plan includes 14 meals per week and 280 flex points per year. Is this usually enough, and do most people have an excess of flex points?

First of all, with flex points I usually have way too many but it depends on the person. If you are a Starbucks addict, they won't last you long!

As for which one is better, I prefer South but I live right next to South. North does have make your own pizza and also pasta stir-fry (which I LOVE) and South does not. They do have the cookies you refer to (I think) and overall I think the quality of the food is a bit better and I like the people a bit better. Overall they are both very good for college dining halls (as a transfer it is one of the things I am most thankful for) but they do have their differences. I am very happy with South, I just wish it had the pasta stir-fry!

They had pasta stir-fry when I ate in South...

hmmm, maybe it was a special day or something but I have only had it in North. If it was in South and I didn't realize my first two years here I would be ****ed! Oh well, I hope you are right.

South had a Chinese stir fry when I ate there.

Answer to the flex point question: 280 is usually enough... you just have to learn to use them wisely. I have friends who ran out halfway through the semester, but I also have some friends who were left with over 100 and bought everyone food at the end of the year! :)

As for dining halls, South is definitely better (I'm probably biased). I've only eaten at North a handful of times this year, and then it was only for the make-your-own-pizza. South usually just has Chinese stir-fry, but sometimes they mix it up and they have pasta.
