Notre Dame Microsoft Office

Does anyone know how much the discounted Microsoft Office is for Notre Dame students?

I bought my new computer and I need Microsoft Office immediately but I don't know if I should just buy it now of get it discounted through Notre Dame.

Is it worth it?

Thanks

Not sure what the discount is, you could probably check with OIT. But it’s probably worth it to wait. In the mean time, you could try downloading a free program like OpenOffice. It’s not quite as good as Microsoft Office, but it lets you open and create files that you can later open in Word/Excel/Powerpoint. I have it on my Netbook, since I didn’t feel like it was worth it to purchase Office for both my laptop and my Netbook and I haven’t had a problem with any of the files I’ve had to open/create.

Two years ago it was $50 for Microsoft Office. My son is a sophomore now. Hope that helps!

You can get still get a free 60 day trial offer through Microsoft, I think. By the time it expires, you should have your ND email address which should let you buy the package though MS (you need an address with .edu).

It is $55. We had to buy a copy for our son who is a freshman at ND Fall 2011.
