Notre Dame Regular Decision Thread - Class of 2024

Well, now is probably a good time to start the ND Regular Decision Thread. Please post any related questions and/or comments here.

Very best of luck and success to all students applying Regular Decision and those deferred to RD from REA!

Regular decisions for the Class of 2024 are expected on or around 03/18/2020 at 6:42 pm EST. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will determine the RD decision date based on workload and other factors.

Previous academic cycle RD release dates were:
03/18/2016 - Friday
03/20/2017 - Monday
03/21/2018 - Wednesday
03/19/2019 - Tuesday.

Anyone else about to have a heart attack?

Yes! I am about to have a heart attack for sure. This is going to be a wild month… can’t believe it’s here. I’ve been working towards this since grade school. Best of luck to everyone!!!

Good luck to everyone. I’ve been searching for the likely date for decisions. Has anyone heard anything?

@jdstreeter117913 Sometime between March 18th and March 21st just based on the past few years.

They posted on their website. It will be March 20, 2020 (6:42 p.m. ET)
Found at: https://admissions.nd.edu

That’s so soon. I’m getting scared now…

Why 6:42 lol

1842 is the year the University was founded. 18:42=6:42

how creative

So in other school threads people have been saying that their financial aid forms have been redownloaded in the past couple of weeks. Has anyone noticed that for ND?

one of my friends said she got an email from ND saying she will be awarded 5,000 scholarship, is that a likely letter?

I didn’t realize that you could upload resumes to the portal, and my resume is much better than my activities common app section just because I could go into more detail about my ECs, which I’d like to think are pretty valuable to my app. Other than that I’m pretty average (34 ACT 35 M 35 S 33 R 32 E, and GPA UW 3.9 W 4.38), do you think this will have a big impact on my admission, or would I have been rejected either way?

@Robthebob Your stats are very respectable for ND. I’m guessing that they are mostly done reviewing applicants at this point, but submitting your resume now certainly cannot hurt and may even get your application a second look if you haven’t already been accepted. If you feel your resume adds more than is included in your common app section (depth, not breadth), then I would go for it!

I was deferred from REA with a 34 ACT, 4.53 Weighted GPA, and decent extracurriculars. Super excited to hear back on the 20th! Good luck to you all.

Posted decision release date.

It’s been up for a while

Hi y’all! I know decisions are coming out on Friday evening, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of chance I have at getting into ND!! I have a 4.0 UWGPA (our school doesn’t show us our weighted GPA), I’m ranked top 10%, I have pretty good extracurriculars (I raised $20,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, was president of a club that helped include students with disabilities, student council, etc.) and I’m pretty sure I have okay recommendations. I’ve also taken 7 APs (gotten 4s or 5s on all). I also did a summer program this past year at ND. Best of luck to everyone! Thank you guys so much!

@sopita You certainly have a chance and the ND summer program will support your expressed interest in Notre Dame highlighted in your essays. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions reviewed the strength of your academic profile in the context of your High School. Best of luck and success tomorrow!
