Has anyone heard about admittance for transfer students for fall 2010? I know last year they came in about this time and late into may and early june. just wondering if anyone had gotten their acceptance letter for transfer students?

This would be very early for Notre Dame because they do not decide until they have your final transcripts. A few of the letters may have come out this early last year, but I think most will come out between 6/1 and 6/15.

Good luck!

Seems odd that there aren’t too many on this thread regarding transfer admissions – where is everyone??

Like the other poster said, ND can’t start accepting transfer students until the final transcripts are in and they are dealing with the waitlist right now, and ND does not take that many transfers to begin with.

Actually, they take a relatively high number of transfer applicants. According to the ND website, last year they received 444 applications, accepted 158, and 118 eventually enrolled. That’s fairly good odds for such an outstanding university!

I know they have to wait for final grades to make a decision, but I just think that in general there has been little chatter on these threads regarding ND Transfers. Not complaining though, as son is hoping he’s one of the ones admitted in a few weeks!

Does anyone know how ND notifies its transfer students – i.e., e-mail, phone call, FedEx?
Seems alot of kids on the Freshman Waitlist get a call first, then receive a FedEx package.

Thanks!

yeh yeh, i would like to find that out too. i was waitlisted at notre dame last year and was eventually accepted. i didnt get a call but got my package fedex i think. that was around may 5th or so, which was pretty early for waitlist i remember. my girlfriend is trying to transfer to nd this year and she is out of town so it be interesting to know if she can get updates by email or just have to wait it out for the good old mail service. i know she already found out she got accepted to transfer to BC already and i’m assuming that was through email.

still no one has gotten any acceptances yet?

Son also got into BC and that notification was sent via e-mail (even though BC INSISTED applicants would only hear via regular mail).

I don’t recall ND ever issuing an ID # or anything when my son applied so maybe they just send it the old-fashioned way.

Yes, has anybody been admitted as a transfer to ND yet??

When I was accepted several years ago I got a phone call, but that is because they thought I needed to take a course over the summer (which was incorrect) so they wanted to let me know ASAP so I could plan ahead. I think they mail the other letters, but I am not positive.

I actually got a letter from BC transfer admissions, but then again this was the dark ages (6 years ago…dang).

yea well i am waiting with you guys. i sent one of the transfer people and email asking her if she knew anything more regarding when we would find out (the website says may 15th to july 30th which is a big window.) She hasn’t answered me yet, but i will post if she does.

Keep us updated when anybody finds out (i hope its me first though :p)

gl all

Ahh, I’m so nervous…as soon as someone finds out if they got accepted they have to post it on this thread! My final grades won’t be available until Friday, so I’m worried about that…Anyone applying for Theology or know of the chances of getting in for that major as a woman? Do they even care?

emailed the counselor. she said they were looking at my application now and would send out a decision letter sometime next week.

we will see what happens… i am applying to engineering, and i know they decide individually at each college so it could be different for arts and letters i guess.

got a call today from my admissions counsler saying I was accepted into the College of Science!!!

I got in as well. it’s contingent on me completing a summer stats course though!!!
WM transfer…did they call you for any other reason besides telling you you’ve been admitted? I’m wondering if they call everyone, or just if they have a question?

My stats:
Major: Theology

where did you go to school cj? don’t answer if you don’t want to.

congratz though. hoping they only let arts/science kids know and it’ll be longer for engineers :O

Have the people who’ve been accepted gotten phone calls, or letters in the mail?

CjKing: Why a summer stats course? Were you missing one of the “suggested” 2 Math courses? Just wondering? Thanks, oh, and congratulations!!!

CJKing: Just noticed that you had said your 2nd semester grades wouldn’t be in until this Friday – Notre Dame accepted you without seeing those grades first? Just wondering – thanks!!
