After vowing never to post one of these threads, I regretfully ask for your input about a transfer to Notre Dame...

HS Stats: 1440 SAT I, 800 writing SAT II (the other two are less impressive), National Merit commended, 20/493 weighted class rank, a five a four and two 3's on AP tests, etc. etc.

College: Doing pretty well at a small Catholic school in the midwest. Without jinxing myself, I expect to have a 3.8+ (I'm being conservative, I'm really thinking 3.9+, 4.0 isn't out of the question) GPA by the end of this year. I'm ahead in language courses, but the rest are pretty much entry level classes with a few exceptions in English and Spanish (my majors). I write for the school paper and am doing well with that (lead story this past issue), as well as a weekly ministry to the homeless and intramural volleyball.

So that's pretty much it as far as stats go. I have some pretty unusual circumstances, however. I posted this on another thread, but I was accepted to ND last year from the waiting list after pretty much begging to get in. At the last second I pulled out (after sending in my deposit) to come to the school I'm at currently, the primary reason being that it was a really solid Catholic school and that's what I thought was most important to me.

While I'm not miserable here, I still have a real desire to be a part of Notre Dame. I honestly am not sure that I'm challenged enough (I don't do a lot of work but my grades remain hight). Additionally I want a place with more school spirit, something I love, and there's no better place than ND for that. The idea that ND has much better facilities, quality of education, and is a better springboard to future work are all pluses as well. Please let me know what you think, and whether or not it would be worth going through the whole application ordeal again. Peace and God bless.
