Could some people start a friendly debate over these two fine institutions?

We are young. Bump

There is no debate.

GT/ND v. BC/Nova/HC is like HYP v. CBPCD.

Well I guess I didn’t mean a debate, more like discuss their similarities and differences on certain college life subjects, possibly arguing over something. (ie better party life, etc)

Sports: ND > BC
Campus (I’ve only visited BC, but I’ve heard a bit about ND): ND > BC
Prestige: ND > BC
Location: BC > ND
Weather: Not sure which is worse/better
Catholicness: ND > BC
Diversity: Both pretty bad
Sizes are comparable, but ND is a tad smaller
In my opinion: ND > BC

HAHAHA, good one!! You go to a state school and you’re criticizing Notre Dame and BC for having a lack of diversity? Notre Dame is one of the most geographically diverse schools in the nation.

63.9% of U of Michigan’s undergraduate population is from Michigan while only 25.1% of BC’s population is from Massachusetts and 6.6% of Notre Dame’s undergraduate population is from Indiana.

There’s only a 58% chance that any two freshman at U of Michigan came from the same state while the figure for Notre Dame is 94% and 88% for BC.

It’s painfully obvious that you have no idea what diversity means in a collegiate setting.

{quote=ArKhAiK]Ok ******* way to bring Michigan into the conversation when it was clearly about Notre Dame and Boston College. I was referring to people of different color or race, not U.S. state. Michigan’s entering class is 62% white, Notre Dame’s is 72% and I assume BC’s is about the same. Never did I say Michigan had great diversity, did I?
[/quote]
I was only using Michigan as a point of reference since you are going to attend Michigan and made a derisive comment about the lack of diversity at ND and BC. I never claimed you said that Michigan had great diversity.

I never said you did and that’s not the matter at hand here.

Oh yeah, please enlighten me then. Notre Dame students come from all over the world and in a 20 person Notre Dame Political Science class for instance, you will statistically see 18-19 different states represented. While in a similar setting at UCLA, 18 of the 20 students will be from the state of California.

I have to agree that both BC and ND are not diverse. Every school has students from every nation, but bc and nd suck when it comes to getting non whites. Not to be ignorant, but I am white and don’t mind being with a lot of whites

Thank you for stating the obvious eagle69.

Anytime buddy

Well, there has been a pattern…

Anyway, on a slight tangent, I’d say that ND > GTWN.

ND simply has a stronger student body profile than GTWN.

^^
I disagree. Maybe stronger stat-wise, but Georgetown looks more in who you are as a person than Notre Dame and tries to mold a class. That’s why they require every applicant to have an interview.
