Notre Dame vs. Purdue

BCS bowl bid? I think that they can get one if they win out........ i dont think 2 losses will grant them a bid

Schedule is far easier than the first half
Stanford-easy W
UCLA- they are a good team......but its in SB...therefore its a W
Navy- Win
North Carolina- Big W
Air Force- its in Colorado... I think it will be closer than most will think...but we will pull it out
Army- Win
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA- this game is it.... if they win, then it will be a BCS.....i dont think two losses will give them a chance.........This will be a huge game.....problem is... its in LA... which worries me........If Southern California remains unhealthy by the end of november...I will give the edge to ND this will be a huge game (plus i think i'm going to this one)

So.... do we have a chance to run the table-----yes-----------so DDjones007---im thinking bcs as well

Ok first of all, we are 4-1.

Stanford- Yep.
UCLA- Very athletic team. Should give us competition.
Navy- No problem.
NC- No problem.
Air Force- Stop the option=0 points for AF
Army- No problem.
USC- This game scares the **** outta me. Depending on who loses where, this game could determine who goes to the National Championship. This is what USC-ND is supposed to be. However, USC still has the potential to win big in this game. Booty is good, really good. They don't lose much at QB. Thunder and Lightning will be missed, the running game won't be the same. But this game won't be what most think, most people that I've talked to just say since we should've beat them last year and they lost they're talent, we'll win easy. NO, this game, if we play our best, should be as close as last year. The Booty to Jarrett passes scare me. The game is at USC, which hasn't gone well for us, and it is Charlie's first time in their house. Even though I'd rather play at USC than at home (so when we win it hurts more for them, I hate them with a passion) this will be a big advantage for them.

Today didn't impress me at all. Tommy is out of position, Leo can't stick with his man, and the linebackers don't have a presence. The Oline was clicking early but that gradually faded. On the bright side, West finally got to show his speed. Charlie should give the ball to Prince when the other team doesn't know were gunna run it.

So if we run the table does no one think we have a shot at the NC? Because we do. Losing early is not a kill all to NC hopes. We just have to get in position before the USC game so if we win we can get bumped to #2.

Even with 2 losses we would go to a BCS bowl, I really believe that! We did last year! I know what you mean about Zibby though :(.

If we run the table we have a chance at the NC but we need some breaks to go our way.

I would like to think that we could loose 2 games..... but i just dont think we can

I know that there is another BCS bowl this year....but i think there is going to be 4 teams who go undefeated this year
West Virginia
Ohio State
Auburn
Boise State

If we loose to USC.. then that would make 5 unbeatens
that would give us 2 losses
that would mean 5 unbeaten
winner of ACC
winner of Big 12
1 loss michigan (if they loose to OSU)
thats 8 teams that are automatically in

so we are going to have to fight with
mainly
Florida
Texas
LSU
Oregon

We are definitly in if we beat USC

We only have to be in the top 8 (I believe) in the BCS rankings to get an automatic bid and the computers should like our strength of schedule I am thinking. Because of that, yes, I really do think we are pretty much guaranteed a BCS game as long as we win out until USC. We will see, but that is my feel.

ya.... top 8 have a spot wait......i think its 6 .. idk ill look it up
But if we dont win out for some reason I think we will be left out

This going into the USC-Notre Dame game/ Michigan-ohio state (this list includes automatic bids
1. Ohio state Big Ten winner/ at large depends on last game vs michigan
2. Auburn- Sec winner
3. Southern California- Pac Ten
4. Michigan- big ten winner/ at large depends on last game vs osu
5. West Virginia -Big east winner
6. Texas- big 12 winner
7. Miami/Virginia Tech/-who ever wins the acc -hahh maybe wake forest
8. Boise State- At large - undefeated
9. Notre Dame/Florida/LSU/Oregon- all would be at larges

It doesnt really matter tho.....because we are going to beat USC anyway........

Strength of Schedule has been taken out of the BCS formula, I'm pretty sure.

i dont think it has been totally eliminated...but it has been reduced.. i believe

lol, regardless, only time will tell but I am really almost positive we are BCS bound. Do you have any idea how good 11-1 or 10-2 will look at the end of the season? You can do it with 2 losses, both Ohio State and we did it last year, and that is with one less BCS game

thats true....... but i also think there could also by 5 undefeated teams this year........ only time will tell

Just thinking back to the National Championship year of 1988. We played USC then at USC; Rodney Peete was touted as being invincible. As we, too, were undefeated, no way anyone was underestimating us. But we went in, followed a game plan, beat USC and then went on to an anti-climactic Fiesta Bowl game to win the national title.

Bottom line, we can beat USC at USC when the stakes are huge and USC is at its best. We just gotta believe... Plus a weaker schedule gives Charlie a chance to get his frosh and sophs--his recruits--some valuable game experience, to have them ready as well.

Go Irish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Plus a weaker schedule gives Charlie a chance to get his frosh and sophs--his recruits--some valuable game experience, to have them ready as well."

Lets not think the games till USC will be a walk through

UCLA is a good football team
AirForce as well
We have a long way to go till usc

saying that...i still think we will all of them

I have full faith and confidence in Charlie not letting his team underestimate any opposition. They learned a lesson about buying into the hype when they got spanked at Michigan and had to pull one out of the fire at Michigan State. Something tells me these are lessons the Irish will not soon forget...

No game is a lock or a walk-through, but everything leading up to USC should be winnable, unless we squander it. USC is a different story, but I still think we can do well there. We have before...

I recall all too unfondly the Faust era, when Air Force whipped up on us repeatedly. Thank goodness there is no comparison between Charlie and the Holy Roller From Moeller!
