Few people seem to compare these two schools. I need help with deciding! I know Notre Dame is a tightly knitted community and Wesleyan is very diverse. I am atheist and Chinese, which would make me a minority at Notre Dame so I am leaning towards Wesleyan. Can you guys share your opinions about these two schools with me in terms of name recognition and atmosphere? Thanks!
I am planning to major in business and working oversea at China but I don't think either schools are well recognized in China?

Wesleyan. From your post, I just have a sense it is a better fit for you.

Yea I totally agree

If you’re planning on studying business, than ND is the right choice. It’s a much more prestigious program.

You would definitely be a minority at ND, so if that really makes you uncomfortable or anything, than Wes would probably be a better choice.

Wesleyan does not appear to offer an undergraduate business program.

ND has the major your want (it is an excellent business school) and is probably better known internationally and Wesleyan (CT) doesn’t have an undergraduate business program but sounds like a better fit for you personally. Only you can decide.

I’m comparing Notre Dame and Barnard, so it’s a relatively similar situation- the schools have nothing in common at all and it’s driving me crazy.

But for you, I would think the best fit would be whichever one you’re more comfortable at if you’ve had the opportunity to visit. Although ND has a great business program, and Wesleyan doesn’t have one, I guess you should keep in mind that with business you’ll most likely have to get a masters in order to be competitive in the field, and in general, Wesleyan is very respected in the academic realm. Just a few thoughts.
