Nov. 3 SAT 2 US History

hey if you get a raw score of 74 that's still above 700 right?

I put westmoreland, he's Vietnam right? Maybe not.

can someone give me the choices for the Suez Canal one?

refresh me on the Jackson one.

Dang..it was suez canal for eisenhower? i narrowed it down to suez canal and the choice below and chose the other one =(

The jackson question asked about how elections were different once he began his term...i put Legislative caucus...once jackson came in as president they eliminated the traditional caucus system of selecting candidates. I think.

what was the gulf of tonkin one? I guessed the vietnam answer choice...is that right?

What did you put for the FDR one? I think I put communism, which I KNOW is wrong. The only other one I didn't cross out was the Mafia one.

i think one was "overturned new deal legislation."

refresh me on the Jackson one.

[/quote]

something about gubernatorial selection. i put "primaries".

i remember learning in APUSH last year that the election of ____ was the first modern election. but i dont remember which election or why it was modern. but i think that may have been what the jackson question was referring to.

pohohh right quarantine speech ...what were the choices?

Yeah the Tonking Resolution is Vietnam.

I put caucus' for the jackson one, didn't they get rid of legislative caucus' because there were nominating conventions.

Yup yup, crime syndicates. the trick answer was the one that mentioned "speakeasies"

yeah, jackson q was caucus. i found that out the day before, lol

It was modern because it's the first to include the West and the west played in important role.

What did you put for the FDR one?

it was not mafia. it was not actually about being sick, i think there were two choices about that. he used "quarantine" metaphorically. it was something about being available to help out European democracies.

OH I REMEMVER ANOTHER QUSETION::

citizens have the right to vote on
judiciary
executive
one legislature
both legislature

which one?

Also: Good Neighbor Policy
what was it? investment or war in Latin america?

refresh me on the FDR one you're talking about..but yeah it probably wasn't communism.

Damn got the FDR one wrong. Couldn't it be COmmunism because it was teh depression ande veryone was poor?

it was both executive and legislature. we vote for our representatives, senators, and presidents. but the president elects the judges. we dont vote for them.

It couldnt have been about helping out European Democracies because that option was 'urging US to KEEP OUT of Europe's mess

One legislature, because the Senate was elected by the House of rep until an amendment passed.

I thoguth about putting executve and 1 legilature, but exectutive implies cabinets too.

yeah but we always voted for house of representatives, right?

what was the one about the biggest export before 1850.

there were two choices about cotton, which i didnt pick, because i thought the cotton gin hadnt been invented yet. then there was a stupid choice about iron. i had it down between sugar and wheat, and picked sugar. what was the answer?

You might be right about the FDR and communism one, glueeater...i think i got that one wrong myself. Do you remember the exact question?

Oh, and for the last question on the test something like "how was the economy of the U.S. improved after the mid 19th century..." i put immigrants...did you guys put that? i narrowed it down to that and "improvements in farm machinery" or whatever. i guessed it was immigrants because an influx of them flooded in after the 1840s all the way up to like 1910...

oh. i put improvements from farm machinery. wasnt it specifically referring to farmers? i think that it was.
