What were the last 3 of the SAT Chinese listening? Was it like pick up a parcel for the woman and what for the man? I know she told him to buy stamps at the post office.

firewolf:
no, the women was gonna send a registered letter, and the man was gonna send a parcel. The woman invited the man to go with her, but the man said he had to go to the bookstore to buy a box. Woman told man to buy one at the post office since it's cheaper there. Man said he had to go to the bank since he had no $$. Woman said she could lend him some $$.

and 等于 wasn't correct, it's 在于

Specify:
character for A was 叫

FK. I screwed up so bad. DAMN MY CD PLAYER. It was freakin ancient. OMG. I did so bad on this test. : (

Damn. Im in the 700-750 range. Does it really look that bad? I mean its still a 700+....

I'm pretty sure the curve isn't so harsh. I believe that if your raw score is 82ish (about 2 wrong) you still have an 800. It's really amazing to me how 40% of the people score 800s on it though...
I'll be happy with a 750+
how pathetic :(

You can miss 2 yeah. Does it look bad if Im Chinese? I learned close to all of my Chinese in HS, I have American citizenship, TECHNICALLY I also have singaporean citizenship, and my parents have singaporean citizenship. Does it look bad if I don't score well on this?

actually, i think you can only miss like 1 question to still get an 800, but then again, the curve is different from year to year

also, i thought the test was so EASY! i don't know what you guys are stressing about! u probably did very well!

can u realli get two wrong and get a 800? like ive said before my friend got 2 wrong last time and got 740 or sumthing.

its not possible though, is it? Did your friend omit any?

ur friend must've gotten it wrong or the test must have been really really easy that year, lol

I hate how this test is taken by ABCs or native Chinese......the SAT IIs are meant for kids who take a foreign language in HS. This sucks for kids like me.

Lubinli: What about plumbing service? Were there choices like installation and bathroom remodeling right answers?
Also Q #3 were the answer choices "qi que ba hao" ? Thanks

Jmom: the answer is definately plumbing, and i put bathroom remodeling for the second question

ok, if you're saying that native speakers of chinese have an advantage over non-native speakers, then what about all the english stuff that we have to take? isn't that a little not fair also? seriously, it wasn't that easy to learn english!!!

My teacher made the SAT II. I'll tell her to put in a word for it. They may give everyone that question? : ) Far-fetched, but she has alot of power. I totally didn't know the answer to that question. I didnt know you could use jiao that way.

Delusioned. thanks but were there any answer for "installation" also?
Do you remember answer for q#3? thanks

"ok, if you're saying that native speakers of chinese have an advantage over non-native speakers, then what about all the english stuff that we have to take? isn't that a little not fair also? seriously, it wasn't that easy to learn english!!!"
My point is to look at the point of the test. THe point of Language SAT II's is to test an American student's ability in the language. I know it is hard to learn english. But all native speakers are living in the country that is speaking English. It's not the same thing as a Chinese taking a Chinese SAT II that is meant for foreign language people. In Spanish or French, we don't see this problem. We only see this problem in Chinese, Korean, etc. Why aren't mainland French taking the French SAT II and increasing the curve? Ask yourself this question. Only Chinese SAT II has such a high curve.

"Do you remember answer for q#3? thanks"
It was either A or B I think the first 5 alternated between A and B.

hey, for the question with the horses, wasnt there also a choice 好多, wouldnt that work as well?

ok, but it's maybe because asians are smarter???? (not meant to offend anyone) and maybe more chinese and korean kids live in america instead of like a native french kid? i mean, do you even see any native europeans in your school? there are a LOT more native asians in america
