Nov.sat ll chinese

sorry i ment #19 "qi que ba hao" what was the answer ?
Does't anyone remember "installation" answer for advertizing for plumber service. Please anyone thanks

moreover, how many mexican kids do you see taking the sat iis?

firework and sweetnshort please stop! please make your own thread on this . this is Nov.satll chinese discussion thread. Please if you can contribute answers and questions please do so otherwise stop, it would be greatly appreciated

qi que ba hao, is this the one that has the number? i remember one has like qi huo (or he) ba hao (7 and/or 8), and the other one actually has a number, like 78, or something, so the answer should be the latter one.

thanks sweetnshort. what about "installation" did you get this as an answer anywhere for plumbing service? because I dont rememmber "fixing" in the answer choices. thanks

for the guy's jacket getting wet from the rain one..
他的外套叫雨淋濕了
do only chinese people have that usage?

why is it (zaiyu) instead of (dengyu)?..maybe i read the sentence wrong but i thought it was (dengyu)

It was something like this:

找得到找不到工作__努力不努力

等于 - equals
在于 - depends on

I guess it could be construed both ways, but I may have remembered the sentence wrong.

Look up the concept of "Brain Drain", it explains everything.

ok, but it's maybe because asians are smarter???? (not meant to offend anyone) and maybe more chinese and korean kids live in america instead of like a native french kid? i mean, do you even see any native europeans in your school? there are a LOT more native asians in america

well, one of the question is like what's the ad about, and it's plumbing, and the other one is like what is something that's offered, it's like a bathroom remodeling. if you're talking about the fridge installation, then ur probably wrong.

because last years (2005) average was around 750 and in 2004 the average was 800d do you think their will be a higher curve?

depends on how many fobs took it, I'd think

overall, what do you guys think the curve will be for this time? the official satll chinese(most recent one) shows generous curve. You can omit 6 and still get 800. compare to that test my son thinks todays test was harder. what do you guys think? your comments will be appreciated

hm ....I just got several questions... You know like the last two or three questions,...there was something about Travelling agency and the question was like what can the agency not do.. isnt it MERCHANDIse ORDER?

Also, for the car fixing question, one of the answers was DISCOUNT rite?
what else..
Oh for the listening. the answer choices were like "qingzuo qing zuo" and "qing man qing man" did u guys put qing man by any chance?

If there were more weird stuff, lets discuss.. I want to make sure too hahaha

"In Spanish or French, we don't see this problem. We only see this problem in Chinese, Korean, etc. Why aren't mainland French taking the French SAT II and increasing the curve? Ask yourself this question. Only Chinese SAT II has such a high curve." the reason why is that there arent that many french immigrants in america, many are second or third generation already, plus its closer to english

in Quebec, where I live, those french kids score over 750 easily

the travelling agency one is"MERCHANDISE"

by the way, the last question on listening, something about air-plane, its
a)check in
b)reserve another plane
c)wait til 12 o'clock
d)prepare to go on to the plane

I put (d). how about you guys?

Yes correct i put that too

I thought the car fixing question was that they had free estimates. I saw mianfei and the only one on there with free was free estimates. I didnt see any word that indicated discount.....The last question was prepare to go on to the plane.

"ok, but it's maybe because asians are smarter???? (not meant to offend anyone) and maybe more chinese and korean kids live in america instead of like a native french kid? i mean, do you even see any native europeans in your school? there are a LOT more native asians in america"

I'll accept that there are alot of asians in America these days. But I do not think it can account for the huge curve difference between Chinese and other foreign languages. There's a certain mindset in the Chinese that Chinese should get 800s on SATs (Chinese is the easiest) when getting an 800 makes no difference to colleges. Theyll see that youre Chinese, and that it is drastically easier for you. Even for ABCs (Granted, I'm Chinese (back to grandparents) , but my family and I speak English at home) If Chinese parents realize that this test doesnt accurately measure their son's or daughter's Chinese ability, maybe these parents would stop pushing their kids to do it. Or even the native Chinese themselves.
My teacher is trying to solve this curve difference with the collegeboard. (I took the new SAT II two years ago to test it out, back when I was suckier at Chinese)

oh my god are u serious?
I didnt see the word free there.. so i thot the closest one was discount
