Nov ssat scores

SSAT Score
2008 November 8
9th grade Male:

Verbal Score : 800 : 99%
Math Score : 800 : 99%
Reading Score : 782 : 99%
Total Score : 2382 : 99%

But from I read on this forum any score around the 90s is fine; they're virtually equivalent, no?

wow nineTango : nice work!

Haha, yes, I think that as long as your SSATs are in the 90's, your SSATs are pretty much safe for any top-tier school.. now all you have to worry about is making sure your essays, recommendations, and extra-curriculars look all nice and professional in your application!

the SSATs are sort of like the SATs: for any Ivy, as long as you have like, 2200 or over, they stop caring and look more at your other stats. You know? (wow, i'm using A LOT of comparisons today. heehee.)

by the way,
is it like, easier to get higher scores if you take your test earlier? like for example, if you take the october test, is it easier to get higher percentiles since most people take them in november/december?
thanks!

Thanks. Funny you mention the SATs, since I took them recently. A bit irrelevant, really, but here's a question I've had for a while: can a decent SAT score, by any chance, help me on my applications?
And that question you asked at the end of your post, DiveAlive: I'm sure it wasn't directed at me, exactly, but I couldn't ignore it; I haven't taken the October test, sorry. This was my first time.

Haha, thanks for answering! I guess it was rather indirect.. I meant anybody could answer it? Lol, imagine that.
Person 1: "question"
Person 2: "answer"
Person 1: "OKAY WHAT THE HECK IS YOUR PROBLEM? I WASN'T ASKING YOU. OH MY GOODNESS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOCIETY NOWADAYS? rant rant rant"
I'm sorry, but I'm a bit high on caffeine right now and I think it shows. :P ! Anyways..
Thanks for answering! Hahah, but I'm pretty sure there are fewer test-takers in October and you're compared to like, other test takers of that month, right? So.. hmm.. >=)

Ooh, if you did take the SATs and they were good (like, not 300 points accumulative. if they were, leave it out. please.), then you SHOULD include it on your application! I'm not sure if it'll help, but it certainly can't hurt you! :)

From the SSAT web site:

[quote]
SSAT Percentile Ranks for each category
The SSAT ranks (1-99%) compare your scores to those of
other students who have taken the SSAT in the past three
years.

For example, if your Verbal SSAT Percentile is 65%, you scored equal or better in the Verbal section than 65% of students (of your gender and grade) who took the SSAT in the past three years.
