I visited Villanova a few weeks ago and really loved it; its definitely near the top of my college list! Im planning on applying to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (thinking of double-majoring in Psychology and either Humanities or Theology). Any chances or advice would be appreciated!

All-girls Catholic high school

SAT I: 1410/2210 (670M, 740CR, 800W) (will probably retake to bump Math up a little)
GPA: 4.168 W, 3.7-3.8ish UW...mostly A/A-s, 2 B+s, 2 Bs, and 1 B- in Accelerated Physics
Courseload (through senior yr): All honors; AP US History/Chem/Latin/English/Gov
School doesnt rank

Around 10 extracurriculars/service programs with several leadership positions
Essays should be pretty good I dont have anything earth-shattering to write about but Ill try my best. :-)

Thanks for your input and advice, jckund. :-)

I’m really not sure if I should apply EA or RD. I’d love to find out by December, but I’m not sure how good my EA shots would be. Thoughts, anybody?

Think about it this way: it cant hurt to apply EA unless you apply ED elsewhere. EA isn’t binding or anything, it’s just a way of finding out sooner. Of course it’s more competitive, but if you don’t get in EA, it doesn’t matter.

I was in almost exactly the same situation as you, except my GPA was closer to 3.9 and the only APs I took senior year were Calc and Gov. but I went to an all-girls Catholic school, was in about 10 extra-curriculars with several leadership positions, and my SATs were 620M, 730CR, 800W . I took the SAT II Math II but I shouldn’t have; it was pointless. None of my schools even considered it. =P
I applied EA to the Nova engineering school and got in with no problem, so you should be absolutely fine. =)

definitely do well on the essays (have multiple people, including at least one (preferably more than one) english teacher read it over, and ask your guidance counselor to help you come up with a list of your best options for letters of recommendation (I believe Nova asks for two). this is important, because not all recommendations are created equal, lol. I was going to ask my physics teacher, but guidance suggested a teacher who not only knew me for longer but also writes more fluently and expressively. don’t ask a teacher you only had for freshman or sophomore year, because colleges want to know you as you are now, not 2 or 3 years ago.
