November 2008 SAT Discussion for International Students

Hey guys, what about the very last math question x=0.3weird square in the place of hundredth…I’m clueless!! Anyway I put D(8 or smth). There was a sign:D

iuileb, what were the answer choices? i think i skipped that one…

btw, did you take the test in the international university?

Yeah, I did. I was the one with a broken foot walking on crutches:D
And yeah, the question was really weird…I don’t think I understood it completely…
answer choices were integers, smth like 2-5-7-8-idk

OH MY GOD
i know you)))) loooool
i tried to help you find an elevator looooooool

lol i hope they’re not gonna ban me for going offtopic :D

the essay was horrible
I didn’t understand the meaning of sensorship :frowning:
ant the second section was experimental
the math was wired
so easy and so stupid in the same time
I hope I did well in the reading
I only got 410 in the previous SATs
for critical reading:the 2 paired long passage was average …it was about shakspear…right??the the false name writer…something like that,
any one remembers any other questionss??
is it right that our exams as international students differ from the exam in the USA???

I had a feeling it was you:)
ok, back to math…
the number scale question: x+z=3, 2xy=xz, y is zero…? Anybody…?

I don’t remember that question at all
x+z=3, 2xy=xz, y is zero…?
:)

seems like we stuck on the same questions)
damn
the more i read these threads the more i think i failed

Come on, only 2 questions so far, we’re fine:D

don’t be so depressed Elvy
nobody is asked to remember 67 +54+49 +expermenatal section
good luck for all…

haha
thats only in math
and i skipped so many vocab questions
ok well. im positive. yah

yeah…the most like is to keep postive …haha
what is your total score till now??

hahah its really low
last yr i had 1490 total
and i definately need something better than this

I’m sure you did better!!! Just for now: no scores avaliable - no problem:)

Are the test for international students different from the tests in the U.S?

OK Im finally up after my loong sleep!

Here are what I remember. And people, honestly you don’t remember anything?

Maths:

A question 0.3 and a box with it. The Answer was 0.32 as 8/25 is 0.32

Then there was a number line A–B–C–D–E–F. They asked us to find the location of X such that A–X was twice of X–F…so the answer was between D and E

I don’t know why I always remember the easy ones only :D

One was about ratios. I got the answer 1:4…anyone?

CR:
I remember temper, onerous, exonerate, mythical,
In the governess passage, there was an the creaking of the hinge…I think it was because she was trying to sneak out. The logic in the last few questions of this passage was that the woman had told the children to pretend as if they were enjoying the show. “One even pretended to look scared”
In the shakespeare passage, Passage 2 answered some of the questions in section one right?

Please write more answers!

About the math, what did you guys put in the “range” question? Is it 15?

Yes…range was 15 definitely. It was 15.07 actually, but it asked for the closest!

Yess…its evident now!

ohhh no… for the paired passage one i put passage2 challenged an argument in passage 1…something similar to that.

for the girl doing tricks passage, why was her “trunk” so significant?
