November 2009 SAT II Physics

Made a new thread with the RIGHT title haha

embargo for now..

anyways, what did you guys think? I thought the questions were way easier than October but I ran out of time...sped through the last 10 questions T_T

yeah the test was kind of too long :)

Yeah…I had 10 questions left in the last 5 mins… luckily it was mostly concept… LOLL

Hmm is the international one the same as the US one for November? I just finished (had about 2 minutes left) but I had to rush myself so I hope I haven’t made silly mistakes. Math II was a little harder on the time for me.

I think they are for subject tests. At least they were for October test.

can we start compiling the answers yet?

Nope, October tests are always the same for International and US students because it’s a Q&A date… Not sure about November though. I know that the SAT I was different for Internationals, so I assume it was the same for the SAT II.

EDIT: We can’t discuss specific questions yet because the embargo hasn’t been lifted.

Ohh…that would be bad =( less contribution to international discussion haha Since you guys finished the test already, are you guys also international? >.<

I found this physics much harder than the previous ones…
i left like 10 questions blank T.T
whats the raw score you need to get in order to get 800?

I’m not sure exactly how much but Ithink you can get 11 wrong and still get 800

Actually I think you can get up to 13 wrong and still get around 800, but it varies…

:) I am an international too. this test is harder than I thought. I think 10 wrong should still be an 800

Has the embargo been lifted? The embargo notice is gone…

Yay lifted!! So what was the relationship between magnetic field strength and distnce from wire? Is it inversely proportional or inverse squared? Also, the one where a charge is placed between two wire, one has current I and the other 2I. What was the distance to the 2I wire? Was it 2d?

I remember the calculation question with planks constant took me so long I just guessed the final answer… Oh and the rocket question, I ran out of time and picked A, which was pushing a boat off the shore with an oar

i put d/2, its probably wrong. What was the answer to the one with the the student wanting to measure the length of the rope attached to that tall building? i said he should use a scale…

Oh that was stopwatch to measure period

oh right…haha i was thinking about torque or something. and what was the answer to the the graph with the P, V, and T? Where is the change in internal energy 0?

Oh yeah I forgot if change in internal energy equals temperature or heat transferred… I assumed it was isothermic and picked D or something, along the lower dotted line. If it were adiabatic it’s E… I’m not sure… We are actually learning this in ap physics now haha should have paid more attention

There was one question with five chrges in a circle in a magnetic field made of parallel wires. Which one experienced the greatest force? Was it E?

throw a ball 6 times higher on the moon? orbit 3R from earth has 1/9g?
pulley system- greater M is closer to the ground?
4eV for minimum energy needed?

I skipped the moon one
1/9g
Pulley- both the same mass
I guessed A for the minimum energy one which was 5 something… That’s wrong tho I think
