November 2009 SAT2 LITERATURE

For me, it was .....a disaster... :S
Is the embargo lifted?
Let's discuss!

I think the test was pretty damn hard, but so were all the practice tests I was doing (Barron’s)… my score on the practice tests were 720-740 so hopefully I get something in that region.

I wasn’t left with enough time to properly answer the blues singer ones on the end, so I made wild guesses mostly. Anyone got confident answers for those?

SO HARD! Is this always how Lit is or just this test? The passage about the boat in the storm was particularly difficult for me

noooo! i just looked up apotheosis and it said to be made divine so that means i missed number 25 on the boat in the storm passage!! I put “perhaps, though his suffering freed his soul” but the answer i think was “No, he gained immortality”

Does that mean that the correct answer is that Braggadocio or whatever his name was will become immortal (the last “no” option on the “vain” question)?

UKtoUSA I put that one haha… i figured out just now… that passage was from Moby Dick…

Moby Dick, eh? Shows how un-well-read I am :(

whatdid you guys put for the last question of the play excerpt? About the phone bell’s effect on the story… I put breaking illusion or something like that. lol…

I had no clue what I was doing the entire test.

hahahah ^…

What was the passage about the guy offering his seat to the girl about? I think I interpreted it wrong.

Elasticity: showed that the guy was really delicate and confirmed her preconceived ideas that he was that way…i think:]

and the phone i said it brought them back to the mundane whatever, not sure about that one though :/

were they siblings?

■■■■, I wasn’t expecting it to be so hard. I couldn’t even finish - I answered 48 out of 60 questions. I skipped the ones about South Africa because I didn’t have time. I figure I got about 4-6 of the ones I answered wrong, so I’m looking at like a 680, maybe a 700 if I’m really lucky.

No I don’t think so, the first paragraph makes it clear…
God, I regret taking it now, I guess I’ not as smart as i thought…

Did anyone have enough time?

This was my second time taking it, due to a dreadful score last time (580) but I felt I did a lot better this time around. Pretty sure I answered 59/60, though the Arthur-Charlotte and Moby dick ones were tough :[

I finished with 5 mins to spare, which I’m taking as a bad sign. I used the extra time to change my answers. :S

I’m pretty sure Arthur was not Charlott’e sibling because he talkes about his health ailments that she doesn’t know about.

What was the title of the last poem? Somethin heiress?

oh and in the question about Arthur offering Charlotte his seat,

What was her tone towards him?
Was she trying to distance herself from his ailments?
Or was she tryin to _____ with him although I can’t remember the word?

ps NAT YOU MAD AS HELL
