November 2009 SAT2 LITERATURE

I got a 670 on this lit test which I know is pretty bad. But I’m an international and I find this test so difficult. How do you think colleges will look at my score??

sora, how many did you miss to get a 750?

no idea, actually. i didnt miss any, so i must have gotten a fair few wrong…
sorry i cant give a definite answer…
btw claudia, im an international too, it depends on whether you have an english-speaking background, i suppose… they just want to see if youre proficient in english, i guess?
score-wise, depends on how competitive the college youre applying to is. hope i helped.

my problem is that I want to major in Comparative Lit. I have several national awards in literary criticism and four years of literature olympiad… and now I’m thinking that colleges will question my achievements due to my miserable sat lit score … Should I plan on retaking in Jan?

Wow…congratz guys :)

How hard is the SATII Lit, exactly? I heard I needed to study so I got the Barron’s but I haven’t started…

If I got 780 on SATI CR, would that sort of hopefully guarantee a 750+ on the SATII?
I hope the curve will be good on the December one too… :)

@TheRoad- Lit and CR are a little different but i believe if you can get 780 on CR you def get 750+ lit

I feel like there really isn’t even that much studying you can do for this test, besides literary vocab (which I didn’t even see that much of on the test). If you got a 780 though, you should be able to do pretty well on it. I got an 800 CR and was really surprised how hard this test was (I took it cold), but managed to get a 790. You can probably do really well.

Thanks Sanxie and Onthefly!
I will definitely study…

oh i could not disagree more. the reverse is true, however; most (if not all people) who do super well on lit will do well on CR, however , most people who do super well on CR do not necessarily do well on lit.

not to discourage you or anything, TheRoad, just being realistic here. take a practice test; if you’re good at analyzing poetry you should be fine. they can throw practically anything at you on this test.

and i dont think the curve was super easy “this time”…curves dont fluctuate by huge margins. maybe by a few points at most.

Actually,I realize…by doing Lit…my CR improved to above 700…
English is not my first language, and I only had classes in English language for one year…pretty hardcore. But I’ll try again~

I don’t think curves fluctuate greatly,either.
