November 2009 WRITING (US only)

ah i agree, but i thought it was because it feared. out of fearing seemed too awkward to me

yeah out of fearing seems really awkward…but it just has to be grammatically correct.
i was hesitant in putting because it feared because of the ambiguous “it”

uh oh yeah, that’s true. hope i didn’t miss that one, i should get off this site… it’s just making me worried

Anyone remember an ID error where “formerly” was underlined? It was something about how the candidate didn’t “formerly” announce her decision to run in the election or something. I can’t remember if I put no error of if i marked that one for a diction error. Anyone else get that? It might have been in the EXP section.

I got that one, but I had a writing experimental.

nope, not experimental and “formerly” was the correct answer, should’ve been “formally.”

What did you put? I was nervous about marking it because we hardly ever see diction errors, but I thought it should have been “formally” not “formerly”.

For the excessive hunting one, I don’t remember the exact choice but there was one that I picked because it had parallel structure. I didn’t think it sounded all that nice, but I figured that parallel structure has more of an importance than awkwardness. I could be wrong though. If I remembered the answer I’d tell you =</p>

question: what were the two correcting paragraph passages about? in detail.
i know one was grocery store data collecting marketing advertisement. i don’t remember a second paragraph…im really scared that i skipped the whole section…

The other passage I got was the restoration of modern buildings, but that was experimental, so you probably just didn’t get it.

oh okay. thanks!

i can’t remember if paragraph sections usually have one para or two. probably one.

minimeigh is correct

so for teh because it fear (uS and Russia in Europe Question) was it A?

Also for the last writing question on section 10 about the albatross wing span what was the answer? I put E not 100 percent sure tho.

Ironman: I put “because it feared.”

Do you remember the wording for the albatross question? I might have put E but I’m not sure.

something like this:

an albatross in flight is a spectacular sight, _______

i know the rest were wrong but I was torn b/w 2 choices:

x. it has a wingspan of so and so meters
E. its wings span so and so meters

thoughts?

one of them had like a comma, the other had a colon. The comma one is wrong because you cant put a comma between 2 complete sentences

That albatross one messed me up. I put one of the ones with the colon, but I thought a semicolon would work better, and I knew none of the comma choices were correct. O_o

im pretty sure i put the one with the semicolon. it was weird question; i would never write a sentence like that.

the answer was the with the colon, and it.
It is the only one that keeps the pronoun singular and keeps the 2 complete sentences working together.

Yeah I put the one with the colon. Pretty sure it was choice E.
