what did you guys get for the sum of vectors one?

there was the h(x) = f(g(x)) one.

I got g(x) is 2x-2 I think. But I did it fast.

In results threads USUALLY every four out of five people report 800’s. Where are all these people? Why aren’t they participating in this thread? So far, almost every single frequent participant admitted he got less than 800. Maybe they’re just so confident that they don’t worry about it. Still, they have a lot to contribute.

do we have a consolidated list?

On the previous page I posted one. It’s not complete though.

5.2% interest rate one? i got 4286.78

^ I think you did original*(1.052)^4

This is not compound interest.

What are your realistic goals, everyone?
I am hoping for a 700+, preferably 750+

The telephone line is 4/9!?!?! I thought it was 2/9!!

^SAME! D: isn’t it? I really hope it is…

^ ya i got 2/9 too because it was 1/3 times 2/3, right?

and for the paper folding one, why was it 10 ft? i thought i got 5…

^ For the paper folding one, the original thickness is 0.03 and THEN you have to fold it twelve times. Did you only do eleven?

oh shoot i think i counted the 0.03 at the beginnign… :(( thanks for reminding me though :)

^No problem! :)

Can someone PLEASE confirm the telephone call probability question?

^agree! please?

The interest rate question was $3554.

It’s 4/9…
p(local then international) = 2/9
p(international then local) = 2/9
sum = 4/9

i got 2/9.

and just thought of another question-- there was a layout of a box with dimensions 2 by 6 by 8 and asked for volume, so was it 96?

emadwilliam, You do not sum up the probabilities!
You multiply them because you are finding the probability that those two calls are happening at the same time!

Yes, it was 96.
