November 2010 SAT - Math

can someone explain the
1<x<1.5 question

What would my score be with-2 MC -2 Grid-in

@gensis. im pretty sure it couldnt have been (4,6) cause in that case 2x+2 does work out…

^Eagles what question are you guys talking about? Was it on the experimental part?

it was the second question of a math section and it had a table with x and y values and u had to pick an equation that matched related the x and y values. i think it was after the question where the lady payed with a $5 note.

so far with I see
3 omitted
2 wrong on grid ins
2 wrong on mcQ
but i have to add maybe 3 to the MCq because of stupid mistakes I may have made
predict my score?

this was by far the easiest math test ive seen in a while, does anyone think that a -1 could be a 760?? that would be a record low, but idk, this test was really easy. There were a couple of tricks though, but i dont think that will be seen as too difficult in CBs eyes.

I’m so tired of making stupid mistakes on the SAT I math, I constantly miss 1-2 problems every time I take it because of careless errors… It really hurts your score.

Well, idk. What did other people put for the table problem?

y = 2x - 2

or

y = 2x + 2

Yeah it was pretty easy I just made stupid mistakes like always :(. I am pretty sure I will be getting in the low 600’s high 500’s again, which means ACT here I come. And I believe that one was 2x+2 that’s what I put.

I put y = 2x + 2, so f(0) was 2.

For the 1<x<1.5 problem, you had two squares with side lengths sqrt(2) and 3. The diameter of the circle must be in between (not including) the diagonal of the small square and the side length of the larger one to not touch it. The figure wasn’t drawn to scale. The radius would be one half that, so 1<x<1.5 (I put 1.4).

definitely y=2x + 2

woah i’m really scared that the curve might not be so generous since it wasn’t a hard math test. D:
I got three wrong cause of careless errors.
ugh.
hopefully it will still be around a 750…

I got -3 on OCT and got 710.

^me too! I hate the SAT’s.

Three wrong would be -4, so looking at released curves will help you get a ballpark estimate.

99% sure that -3 on this will be 720. 730 MAX

Presidont

wouldn’t the radius .875 work
If you found the area it would fall inbetween the two squares.

^no you fail at life ■■■■ this site.

LOL jk i just felt like saying this

Band/Key Club/ Drama Club was III only, Band had the most.

800 on the 7^1600 version still, would hate to be proven wrong on one at this point :P

Math : 9 omits and 2 wrong

Reading: 7 omits and maybe 10 wrong

writing: essay 10, mc maybe 4 wrong and 2 omits
