November 2010 SAT - Math

what triangle prism question ?

choice a said AB = BA

i still don’t understand why the other choices were wrong for that question.

Hatethissite it was 26,10 +10+6

yea what were the other choices for the A B question???

and the triangular prism was something like…showed a picture of a diagram of a triangular prism (i could HARDLY understand the picture) and they wanted the perimeter of trangle ACB or something like that…i don’t remember entirely/didnt understand the question…but i think the triangle was INSIDE the prism!? i have no idea…i thought it was the hardest question in the math sections ;((
anyone know?

are you sure it wasn’t experimental?
johnmc cool, what question are you talking about ?

26 was the perimeter of ABC

jonmrcool, do you remember what the question was exactly asking?
and what the other answers were?

i don’t remember that question

and yea im sure it wasnt experimental…i had an experimental grammar im pretty sure…

ok.
10char.

I had experimental CR. It gave you a prism height 11 and Equillateral triangle base 6. B was a point on the height, 3 from the top. From there you can do pythagoran theorem to give you AB=10 and BC=10. And AC was on the base so it’s 6. It asked for the perimeter of that triangle. 26!

Choices were 22 24 26 28 30

There was a problem on the test that said: Let S be the set of positive 2-digit integers in which the first digit is greater than the second. For example, 63 is a member of S, but neither 36 nor 33 is a member of S. How many integers are in S?

I GOT 45, BUT ON THE RELEASED QUESTION SET, IT SAID 36!!! HOW???

Hollyy sheet. ***?

I put 36 and I thought I got it wrong after combing through the forums.

EDIT:
Nvm. I honestly forgot my reasoning -__-

How did you come to that reasoning?

10 =1
21+20=2
32+31+30= 3

PATTERN

= 9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1 =45

CB is dumb

Yes, but on the November 2005 test, they wrote 36.

but it still doesn’t make sense
because
1=10
2 is 20,21
3, 30 31 32and so on
those all add up to 45

OH I REMEMBER NOW!

10, 20, 30, and so on doesn’t work because 0 is not a positive integer (:

set of positive 2-digit integers .

I believe 10 and 20 are positive integers.

@gensis
could you send me the pdf file for Nov 2005?? I’m dying to know whether i should cancel my score or not…
