November 2011 - Chemistry Subject Test

Discuss here.

Okaaay. So how was it, guys? i left 2 questions  (no time)

Easier than expected, so I regret I invested my time on chemistry rather than physics, since I thought physics tends to require logic and chemistry tends to require memorization.
Pathetically, my knowledge from school covers almost everything from SAT chemistry but not physics.

What was the answer to the 0.01 M NaOH question?

I was really glad that they didn’t ask about atomic models (plum pudding, etc) like they did in the practice test I took. WAY easier than expected.

I thought it was quite easy as well. And what was the 0.01M NaOH question? The details are lost to me.

Post some answers already.

for the .01M NaOH i got .01 M H2SO4 for my answer. since there are 2 mol of H+ ions in H2SO4 and each substance has the same volume, the solution will be acidic and have a pH less than 7

How many questions were there? I only got to #61 on the multiple choice =(

I got the same answer as sdyanks430. And I believe there were 70 questions, not including the TF ones.

Just curious, H2 is the least common component in air right?

that was actually one of the few i left blank…

foshizzle , do u remember the choices ?

this is the list of components in % : [Air Composition](Air - Composition and Molecular Weight)

so unless there was Xenon in the choices , your answer should be correct .

I think it might be: Oxygen, CO2, Nitrogen, H2, and H2O. Water vapour isn’t listed on the site, but rather states that it varies according to region. :l I might be wrong then.

^

its definitely H2 then

water vapor is around 1%

am sure of this …

Does anyone remember how many TF/CE questions there were?
I recall there was 20, but standard is 16… so wondering if I remembered wrong

I thnk h2 is right. Did anyone get number 8?

someone needs to start posting MORE ANSWERS@!

What was number 8?

H2 is right for sure.
What was question 8?
And OMG that ws soooo dumb! It was H2SO4  Sheesh. A few more minutes, and i couldve gotten it
With 2 omitted (absolute best case) whats the highest you can get? :O

it was like this substance can be a base and an acid? something along those lines
