SAT: 2300

CR: 700

relatively happy

I predicted somewhere around a 2200-2300, and I got a 2180. I got a 650 in W lol.

1 school is UCSD.

actual: 800M 740CR 700W(72 MC 8 essay lolol) 2240
from March: 640M 560CR 670W(66 MC 8 essay) 1870
370 point increase with very minimal prep

math level 2: 800
Chem: 790

^■■■■■! I was just thinking the same thing, bro. Average SAT score on here is like 2200 or so lol.

Composite: 2240
CR: 700
M: 740
W: 800 (80/10)

The same composite score I got on October’s test. Oh well, at least my superscore went up by 80 points.

Congratulations to all you high scoring CC-ers!

Composite: 2260
CR: 780
M: 780
W: 700

Considering that I accidentally went to bed at 3 A.M. that day, I’m happy with these scores.

well my average SAT score here isn’t 2200…grr.

I am applying to the Ivies and I think I have a very strong app (I don’t want to list languages, projects etc. here. I got straight As as final grades).

Only problem is the SAT. I’m an international student, prepared for 12 days, and fulfilled the requirement of taking that test.
I didn’t make it into 700s and landed in the 600s on all 3 areas of the exam with a total score of 19xx.

(8 for the essay? grrr…)

If admissions weren’t holistic applying would probably already be a lost cause but I don’t want to give up. I hope you understand.

Now I am unsure what to do about the SAT II.

I’m very good at languages and one of my Subject Tests will be a language. However I am not sure what to do about the second subject test.
I have signed up for the Math I and World History tests but I don’t know which one to focus on.

Is world history safer? If I don’t make it into the 700s, it will look like I didn’t study enough but if I don’t get into the 700s with Math 1 people will think I’m too stupid and not good at logical thinking, especially because I also didnt make the 700s in Math on the SAT.

Should I use the SATII Math 1 as an opportunity to show that I am capable of doing some Math, or drop that all together and present myself as a language/social science person.

Thanks for your advice.

@ dan 141 Well preparing for the SAT Reasoning in 12 days probably isn’t the best idea I studied for months to get a 2380. I’d say retake, try to score 2250 +.

As for SAT IIs, there’s no answer as to whether WH or Math I will be better. It depends on what you are more comfortable with, so it’s up to you.

reading 760
math 780
writing 730
composite 2270. (9 essay ***FFFFF)

should I retake? I probably am going to retake because I want a 2300. It bugs how i’m like 30 points away from 2300 =_______=

previous SAT test (January)
reading 570
math 610
writing 670
composite 1850

November SAT
reading 710
math 720
writing 670
composite 2100

I’m thinking about retaking in January for my Writing and Math. Aiming for at least a 2150 composite

This was my first SAT test, and my score is in the 1800’s.
Hopefully I can improve as much as you ^ haha

What did you do to increase your CR and M scores by 100 points each in 10 months?
Pray tell!

Thanks.

SB

CR 730
M 740
W 590
2060 overall. Not bad. But certainly not good enough.

790 CR
690 M
800 W
10 Essay

2280 composite

Guessing I got everything on the writing correct, with a curve for the essay. Definitely going to retake in January (taking ACT in December) to get a higher superscore for Math.

Top school: UC Berkeley

R: 790
M: 790
W: 730 essay 10

Reading dropped 10 points but w/e, and W also dropped by 20 (kinda surprised because I felt that I knew all the questions), but all of that is mitigated by my rise in my math score from 710… and I had forgotten my calculator that day. Very happy.

M: 670 CR: 760 W: 750 (72 mc/10 essay)

Junior; first time and I didn’t do any prep, so I’m okay with this. Essay sucked so I was actually pleased to get a 10. I left several blank on math…blah blah blah definitely retaking once or twice in the spring.

Should I retake just to improve my writing? I wanted a 2300+ and ended up with a 800 CR, 780 M, 670 W for a 2250. I would retake but I don’t know because it is pretty much only my writing that I can improve on. I know I can do better if I study a little (first time, didn’t study/practice). So should I retake or will colleges not care about the writing anyway?

M: 740
CR: 740
W: 760 (71/11)
Composite: 2240

Top school: Pomona

I was pleasantly surprised by my writing (especially the essay!) and critical reading, but disappointed in my math score :/

M: 720
CR: 630
W: 770 (77/9)
Composite: 2120

Did anyone feel like this test was harder than others? I’ve taken many (and I mean many) practice tests, and I’ve scored consistently in the 2200s or upper 2100s, so I’m pretty disappointed with my score, especially math! I’ve always been lousy at critical reading, but I know I can easily get 800 on math. I don’t know what happened! I’m only a junior, so I know I have time…but I feel like this test was hard. A lot of my friends that took the October SAT did really well; I really regret not taking it! Ughh whatever
