November 2012 SAT Math Level II Discussion

So, we're a few hours away from the exam (at least over here in south-east Asia), and everybody must be pretty nervous. I'm creating this thread for question-and-answer discussion, but I'm not sure by when it's safe to begin talking about the test. You know, with time zone difference and all, a student in the east could potentially leak questions to the west.

Anyways, is everybody prepared? :D

Not exactly, I decided to wait until November to take it in hopes of having more time to study, but schoolwork and extracurriculars ate up my preparation time and I’m a little nervous about the outcome. I’m spending today studying, so hopefully I can do pretty well. How have you been preparing/how are you expecting you’ll do?

I hate how there is so little time after you get your scores back from the October test to prepare for this test. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for me, I knew that I hadn’t done as well as I wanted to do. So I just kept studying. Still, I’m not as prepared as I would like to be. I was planning on trying out Sparknotes or PR practice tests, but I didn’t have enough time so I didn’t even buy them.

But I finally understand how to do Linear Regression on my calculator and how to do Limits (Between L’Hopitals, my calculator, plugging in and factoring I think I have it covered:).

why don’t the sparknotes tests work?

I just got back from my test! Wrote Math Level II, Physics and Chemistry. I don’t think we can start discussing yet though; maybe in another 6 to 7 hours. Physics was good, a few questions tricky. Chemistry was more or less straightforward - Barron’s was a great deal of help! Math II was again a little challenging … don’t forget your graphing calculator, and make sure you know your statistics well, because that’s the topic most students neglect (including me :/).

I just received 2 PMs about the test. Guys, I’m really sorry I can’t respond, I’m only 10 posts old! :P

I’m doing this to increase my post count. Ignore this message.

And there you go, another post to increase my count.

ALL THREE WERE TOO LONG. I messed up chemistry and math II  Physics I may just make it to 800 though. I still feel horrible! i knew how to do every sum. there was just no time

yo my physics was all good and math II was OK…i had enough time but i am not sure of all my answers…i hope the curve is good and i get 750+ in both

MATH started really easy I think but then on one problem I got stuck and then got all messed up. physics I dont know, i think i should have omitted more I am afraid of getting too much wrong

Same! Physics was really time tied for me. On all my practice tests, I finished the paper well within 30 minutes, but this one just went on! I didn’t even get enough time to recheck my answers. :P

When do the US people enter the test hall?

Bad experience man. I had like 15 questions for chemistry in the last five minutes I think, lol. I’m pretty sure I’ve done only the alternate questions towards the end. I think I was just expecting really easy questions. My brain somehow froze during the tests- not to mention it was so bloody cold in my hall!

Yep my hall was also freezing
Really that is a problem
I m just scared abt my math results

Are the US and International subject tests the same?

They usually aren’t, but there’s always a chance that ETS has a few same questions on both papers.

The best, easiest, most awesome test ever! 800 here I come!
Maybe we’ve written different versions of the test - mine was 2E5, 4ICB5. I am from Europe.
I can support you with answers if needed.

mine was 2E1
guess its different then

Mine was 2E1 too.
