@mbomb: I think the answer choices were .24, .48, .52, .67, .76

@Hiking7610 the answer was .52 then. because you have to take the probability of getting both then the probability or getting none from 1. So 1-((.6x.4)+(1-.6)(1-.4)). the answer should be .52.

What do you guys think 34 correct with the rest omitted would be?

Let’s say you knew abs(x)=abs(y), what must be true between x and y?

I also saw this in a review book. Would it just be x^2=y^2

That’s what I got. ^

^ I chose that too :P

@mbomb:
You needed the probability of at least one arriving, so you only subtract the probability of none from 1. So you do 1-(1-.6)(1-.4) and you get .76

It’s .76.

10char

what did you guys get for the one about which were periodic functions and the one about the polar coordinate?

^ Could you elaborate on the periodic functions one? I can’t quite remember the question.

Periodic functions would be like tan(x). If you add/subtract by a constant it still maintains its period.

yeah for the period functions it was I and II only because the first one was f(x) +1 which moves it up and the second was f(x+1) which moves it left 1. these two still maintain their period

@kerning yes it is that answer because squaring any answer will give you a positive and you know that the positives of x and y equal each other so squaring the number negative or positive will get you the same value

Periodic function was everything but the third one. because f(x+1) is still the same function but moved one to the left, and f(x)+1 is the same function but moved one up. f(x)+x (Number III) was wrong because this would cause it to not be periodic.

And the Standard Deviation, I got .1. The Standard deviation shouldn’t change when you add 2 to everything.

And for the percentile question I got in-between.

And for the 6 consecutive multiples of three, the answer was 5. I checked my figuring out the actual multiples. It was from 33 to 48. The number was 4 203 239 040. a+b+c=2+0+3=5.

If you had a pyramid with a square base with side lengths 8, and the slant height (is that what it’s callex?) is 15, what would be the actual height of the pyramid?

The third one was f(x)+x, which isn’t periodic.
Anyone remember the parallelogram question? How about the question about the area of the square?

For the parallelogram question, I got 3 but I’m not too sure about that.

the area of the square is four times bigger. the parallelogram question is 3 possibilities. the actual height of the pyramind i forgot but you can find the altitude by making 2 right triangles and then pythagorean thereom.

@kerning: the height would be square root of (15^2-4^2)=square root of 209

I got 3 for the parallelogram one
