November SAT Math Discussion!

Hey guys, I'm not sure whether I should send my scores directly to my ED school right now. If its worse than my October score, theres no sense in sending it right?

I know I got one math question wrong. The question was: x percent of y is 4. what is y percent of x? And the answer was 4, but I put .25 I think. Not sure about the other answers. I'm a bit worried.

Also Math Experimental? Discuss.

i put 4/3 when it was supposed to be 3/4 X( I was stuck between both of those answers…i think that’s the only one i got wrong

When are we allowed to discuss answers? I don’t think we should start right now though…

was the two circles with 5 supposed to be no points shared?

Ah yes, the tangent to a circle question. A circle with a center of (3,-4) is tangent to a line running through the origin. I also had 4/3 until I changed it after figuring out the slope of the line running through the center of the circle and the origin.

I’m not sure when answers can be discussed… I’ll look it up online. I think the distance of 5 one was no points touching.

I just looked it up online and can’t find any information about either 1) not talking about the answers, or 2) waiting a period of time before discussing the answers. I know that you can’t talk about the answers during the test, but thats a bit obvious. Now that the exam has been administered (and started in California), shouldn’t it be okay to discuss?

1001
44
22
2pi
x+y=120
confirmations?

I got 1001 I remember, but then I think I got 6! for one (comes out to be 720 i think) and then 995 for the last one… x was a multiple of 25, meaning that it was 875 and then y was a multiple of 20, for which I got 120, meaning 995 was the closest you could get without going over.

guys… please post the question too. im so lost.

Agree with 1001. Agree with 995. Do not agree with 6!. For the circle segment question I got 21. Wouldn’t it be 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1?

I got 6 for something…I’m pretty sure the last one was 44-

2520 + 2024

20

since it was asking for the highest value of the sum of x and y

Yes. It stated that x is a multiple of 25, and that y is a multiple of 20. 975 is a multiple of 25, 20 is a multiple of 20. 975+20 = 995.

6 was the answer to the length of segment ST.

i got 21 as well

guys, are u sure the last question wasn’t asking the sum of x and y and not the actual value?

one answer was : 2 pi square root of 2. Answer choice A. am i right?

It was asking the sum of x and y.

x was a multiple of 25 and y was a multiple of 20.

edit: I don’t think so Reveriece. Can you recall the specific problem?

6.5 was an answer for the question about trucks. It said that 25 cars and 6 trucks passed through and it was 139, and then the same amount of cars but only 3 trucks, that meant that 3 trucks were 19.5. 19.3/3= 6.5

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…ugh i guess i’m at -3 then :/

Hvw9794, the answer to that problem was 2.5. The cost for trucks was 6.5, the cost for cars was 4. It asked for the difference.
