I received an email from Penn Admissions telling me that I had missing materials. The SAT scores are the only materials missing. I am worried because the deadline for everything is December 1st, however, College Board says that the scores will be sent as soon as they are available, MC became available on Nov 16th meanwhile the essay score becomes available around Nov 27th (As soon as I registered for the Nov SAT I made sure for CB to immediately send the scores upon availability). Is anyone having a similar experience? Does anyone have more information regarding how College Board deals with the November scores?
College Board will send your scores to Penn within 10 days after you receive all scores, so you have to wait for your essay score first.
Thats horrible. The deadline for all materials is Dec 1st
Honestly, taking it in November was a bad idea. Also, you should have rushed the scores; not send it right after availability. Rushing requires an extra fee but it’s necessary in your case.
Do you have other scores? Can you send those rushed today? Mine were sent about a week from when I ordered the report.
Hey Veronica, I’m in the same dilemma as you. I ordered a free score report from College Board on October 28th to send my November SAT scores straight to the University of Pennsylvania’s undergraduate admissions office. My multiple choice scores came out the 17th however my essay didn’t come out till the 22nd. College Board won’t send your scores until the essay portion is released. It has been a week since I received my essay score and my SAT score is still missing from my application as stated on my Penn Applicant Portal. I decided to rush my scores on Monday (the 27th) so hopefully they receive it by the December 1st deadline. I called the undergraduate admissions office and I explained this exact scenario to them and the woman on the phone told me “Don’t worry about it, the admissions officers will see that this was out of your hands and if the scores do arrive after the December 1st deadline they should still be able to review your application.” If you have any questions you should try calling them! I’m hoping that either my free score report or my rush scores will be received in time.
@dvasquezz07 Thank you for sharing your similar experience. Luckily, even with the delays, Penn received my scores on November 29th (crazy right). My guidance counselor called the admissions office and they suggested that she email them the scores in a PDF format (the score reports you can download from collegeboard.com), which would give the officers a general sense of where you stand in your standardized tests. And after they officially receive the scores from CB, they can compare them.
I would recommend you talk to your guidance counselor about it to quicken the process.
