I didn't take the May SATs (big mistake) and I'm not taking the June ones; October, I'm taking my subject tests. I'm not satisfied with my current SAT score, so I'm taking them one more time in November. Is this too late for regular app for most colleges?

Or, say, a scholarship which has a Dec 1 deadline.

Scores take about 3 weeks to come out. I guess they’ll all be out in time for regular decision, but taking a test in November is cutting it very fine for the scholarship. You might make it, though!

I have asked a few schools on their early admissions programs with apps due as early as November 1st who have told me they will even accept the November SAT scores as long as you have them sent directly there when you register. I was kind of amazed by the fact that I would be able to take the test a few days after the deadline for the app had passed, and still be able to use those scores. However, I have recently discovered that most schools plan for their applicants to be slightly bad at planning these things (as I am unfortunately
) and will do something like this.

Perhaps your schools will do the same, the best way to find out is to send an email to admissions asking them your question directly.

Best of luck!

Nov is fine for all regular admission apps; most accept through Dec test and many others through Jan test. For early decision or early action, may take Nov tests but some do not.
