Now everyone can find out there chances...

These are two “chance calculators” enter your EC’s, GPA, School’s of choice and sat/act scores to find out your chance.

http://www.college-admission-essay.com/predictor.php - for ivy league shchools only.

http://216.119.65.114/Hernandez/ai_calculator.cfm - Ivy league only

http://216.119.65.114/Hernandez/ai_calculator.cfm - all schools, must register to use.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Also, applying for ED is ups your chances of being accepted versus RD

The first one's nice, except that it's garbage...

Judging by the fact that it's run by a college essay group, it puts way too much weight on the essay. It told me I'd have a 40-something % chance at HARVARD when I put in 2.5 GPA, 1650 New SAT, just to see if it really worked...

i tried those calculators and they are not very accurate in my opinion. no one but an adcom can tell you your chances.

Wow, equal chances of getting into NYU and Cornell!

yea, when i did an input, i had a better chance of getting into columbia than williams

Uh first one isn't for ivy leagues only.

^ Seriously, does it matter?

I forgot to add the one that was most accurate, though... it/s based on who was accepted through people's statistics. I'll add it later

^ ooooh i want to see that one!

Here you go:

https://www.collegedata.com/cs/promo/promo_calcodds_tmpl.jhtml

You need to register to use it. If you read how the calculator works, they say it
s based on acceptee's and rejectee's statistics.

[quote]
College Chances estimates your chances for undergraduate admission by comparing your academic and extracurricular information with the qualifications of freshmen most recently enrolled at the college, the level of competition for admission, and the relative weight in the admissions process the college places on different types of qualifications.

And to the people complaining, it was to help you, no one forced you to use them, nor is it mandatory for me to include the links. So try to keep the complaning to a minimum, and quit being ungrateful to the people who took the time to create these calculators for you.

Does anyone have comments on the accuracy of the College Data site? I don't think it's very accurate, it's giving me "good bet" for Harvard EA with a 1440 old SAT and a couple of leadership poisitons, 16-20 hours a week, a 4.0 and valedictorian.

hahahahaa- On the first one:

2.0 GPA
1350 NEW SAT
All Remedial Classes
Teacher Recommendations a 1 out of 10
Well Written Essay 1 out of 10
No Extracurriculars at all
No Family Association
No Minority Status
"Not so much" work spent on the application

"Your chance of getting into Harvard is 0 %"
"Your chance of getting into Princeton is 0 %"
"Your chance of getting into Hofstra is 34 %"

:D I love Hofstra!

These things are bogus.

I am a junior in HS. I took new SAT I first time on Dec 3rd and score is 2170(cr=690, m=780, w= 700 with 9 for essay which I could not finish as I ran out of time). My GPA= 4.31 weighted, belongs to 3 clubs ( interact-3yrs, student model UN- 2yrs, spanish honor society- 2yrs) member of varsity golf -2yrs, classical dancer- 9yrs. I do not hold any office positions in any of the clubs. I have won few dance competitions, performed for several fund raisers. Most of my courses are honors or Ap. Presently taking Ap bio and chem and will take AP calc, physics and spanish in senior year. I volunteer 2-4hrs per week at a senior citizen place. I am interested in 8yr BS/MD program. I will be taking SAT II and AP exams in May. Do I need to repeat my SAT I and do I have good chances of getting into 8yr prog or any Ivy school for pre-med programs.
