I just got a call frm a frnd and surprisingly i came to know that refrence is not conpulsorily a number, it can be a string like "Admission Decision" or something of that sort!

That Is Why I Want To Know:

Hey You Intls Out There Who've Received Your Post:

Pls. Check Your Airbills. Is There Any Reference Number/Text Other Than 650??

bump.. all intls acceptees, please answer this..

i know i'm being grecoprincetonian, but i'm totally out of my mind now and frantically need to know. i hope you get my situation

another bump.. i dont want this thread to go unnoticed.

I am with spacepirate, can someone please confirm this?

yet another bump

Of course the Ref Number can be something other than a number. It can be a string of text like "cookies" or "goods."

But then if you think about it rationally, why would Pton choose to send some decisions using numbers and other using text...it just doesn't make sense to me that way.

I don't know, I already prepared myself for the deferral so I don't want to think about this too much, I'll know by midnight today anyways (email from Pton should be here by then).

*The strange thing is going by this...no one in Taiwan got in...we have Taipei American School AND National Experimental High School (sends tons of kids to Olympiads, including IMO and IPhO), how is it possible that NO ONE got into Pton ED? Did they just not apply? Strange...

did you check the numbers 650 and 651 as well? because i know some letters were sent out with reference numner 651...

because i discovered that there was this 651 as well, I wondered if there could be other reference numbers as well..

in simple words- i'm not yet prepared to accept a deferral.

Last night I went through 600 to 700 before giving it up.

^Now that's dedication.

wow oasis. I admire you.

Ok. For 650, there are 5 packages to Korea.

I checked 651, and there is 1 pakcage from Princeton to Korea.

650 was sent on 12/14 and 651 was sent on 12/13

could it be possible that 651 is an acceptance package, too? (it's "express")

Pretty sure.

There's no way that they'll send rejections or deferrals via UPS guys...if you are getting a package through UPS, you ARE getting an acceptance package. Why would Pton waste money sending deferrals and rejections through UPS? The applicants would just see it in their email...isn't it more cost-effective?

What if 651 is a reference number given to a package that is being delivered to a regional alumni association / office?

I am asking because I see this under 651 for Korea:

THE BUSINESS WAS CLOSED TODAY [Saturday]. A DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE ON THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY;PACKAGE WILL BE DELIVERED NEXT BUSINESS DAY-NO SATURDAY GUARANTEE

We had used an office address, so we're hoping this is the one. Could it be?

I don't know which package is your's, but rest assured that it is an acceptance package.

can you tell teh rest of us how you checked???

go to http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US

enter 650 or 651 as the reference and go on and enter your country.

the dude rohan malik is princeton's representative and alumni association administrator in gurgaon, they mailed all india letters in one single mail to their representative, he will redistribute it!

Congrats Spacepirate =)

who knows how many rejections or acceptances did Mr. Malik recieve for us Indians.

Better than nothing!

You have some hope now.

Hahaha seriously this package tracking idea is the worst ever...it only gets people on their nerves.
