We all know the letter is in the mail soon. But will the accepted students be posted on line? Will it be listed on the CMU website?
It would be cool if all the accepted students posted on this site…wouldn’t it!

Last year when my daughter was accepted into MT at CMU--she checked it out online first, and then received the official letter a few days later. Several of her friends who had auditioned (and who didn't make it) had a different, obscure message ----what I'm trying to say is that it wasn't very clear that they had NOT been accepted. ( I don't recall the "exact" wording) It was VERY CLEAR if you had been accepted.
Mmmmm. does this make sense? HA!
Anyway, she accepted the CMU spot and is very, very happy!! She is in a class with two other girls and 6 or 7 boys.

Is the info posted on their website or did it come in an e-mail. Is there a site you can go to? Congrats on your daughters acceptance into one of the best programs out there!

Yes, it is posted online and you can access it thru your account number that comes in your admissions confirmation. It's been awhile(however, at the time the NOTIFICATION DATE was ingrained in our brain-ha!) but you can find the "notification date" on their website under admissions, or just call admissions and ask when it will be posted. As I recall, that's what we did. My daughter actually found out before it was posted, but that's another story...

I couldn't find an exact notification date on their web site. Admissions indicated they would be notified between March 15 and April 15. At the auditions, the CMU student at the desk told us March 20. Not sure what to think.

Barbara Mackenzie-Wood told me they were making their decisions this week.....soooooo, I don't know how soon after they've finalized they let us know but it'll be soon...AHHH! good luck to everyone.

In the past I think people started finding out around the 24th or soon after. If you check back to discussions from last year and years prior you'll probably find your answer. Good luck to all of you waiting on CMU. My S is very happy there.

You can find out online 3 days after the letter goes out. If you are on the west coast you'll most likely find out online before your letter comes. You will need the ID number that you recieved by snail mail early on in the application process to be able to log on. I rememeber in years past that several students couldn't log on because they misplaced their ID number, so have it handy.

Well guess what? We can't find the letter with the ID. We'll just have to wait for the mail to tell us. Do you think it will be posted on campus?
Say hi to your S for us!

It won't be posted on campus. You might be able to call admissions to get the BIO ID since you are unable to find it if you want that option. I don't know if they will give the info out or not over the phone.

I just got an answer from someone that you can call the HUB at CMU for your BIO ID if you want to be able to check your information online.

They won't give you your ID number over the phone.. they would have to snail-mail it to you...

You all are so patient. I'm dyin' here! It's only Wednesday.............

Clear blue ocean...clear blue ocean... yes we wait for the mail every day! But we must be realistic... so few are accepted and so many who audition. We saw some vocal performances on line by current students. Very talented kids! I can see why CMU is respected so much.

on the cmu forum, they've been speculating about when decisions will be mailed out, most often mentioning that alot of them went out on WEdnesday... how does MT fit into this? Do they send out by major?

I saw a livejournal last night of someone in PA who heard yesterday, I think, for MT.

A friend of my D found out yesterday that she was accepted to CMU. She auditioned for MT. Don't have any more details yet since we have been out of town, and she just left my D a message, but will post them when I find out.

Last year, not everyone was notified online or by mail on the same day as one another. I recall some frustration with the mixed information/communication regarding notification from their own offices even. I'd have to look it up to recall the details. Hopefully this year went smoother in terms of everyone being notified at one time and when they state students would hear.

LAST year, my D got a call from Gary Kline, Vocal teacher to tell her she had been accepted into MT program. SHe had seen her acceptance "online" a day or two before, but for whatever reason--she didn't think it was "real" until she actually talked to Gary confirming it ( she made us read it over and over to make sure it was "legit"--ha!!)
Anyway, since we're on the West Coast, we didn't receive the letter until a few days after his call.
I can remember how stressful this time was, particularly because my daughter REALLY wanted to be at CMU even tho she had auditioned for other schools.
GOOD LUCK to everyone!!!!
