my recs are probably OK and i've been told my essay is very interesting (wrote it on running)

anything else i could tell to be help, just let me know, and i appreciate if you could help me out with the chances at these schools

b - u - m - p

b - u - m - p #2

Your Williams Academic Rating is about 2 (out of 9). Which is fantastic. I think if you wrote good essays, you have very good chance.

say what about academic rating?

hmm its something i learned in Williams board.. Williams uses its own academic rating. ACademic 1s are like westinghouse, intel finalists, rsi finalists, etc.. academic 2s are 3.9 gpas, top 1% ranking SAT I above 1550 stuff like that. Acdemic 1s are almost always auto admit. Williams get about 1500 Academic 2s applicants. For those, ECs matter a lot (you have very nice ECs though).

I would venture to say that you will be accepted everywhere. You're one of the first people on this board to whom I can say that ( or write that) with confidence.

heheh mikey knows what he's talking about so trust him~

I knew I liked you Hopeman!!!

I just think that the OP seems like such an interesting and genuine kid. I really think the adcoms will pick up on this.

Maybe I just like him so darned much cuz Williams is his first choice.

Cheers

With your SATs scores, grades, and awards, you have a really good shot. I can't say whether you'd definitely get in to Williams, Dartmouth, Princeton, and Harvard, but you have a good list. There's no doubt that you are a qualified applicant. I'm sure BC, Conn Coll, Ithaca, and possibly Haverford will take you.

ok so now that i've got my mid year report, does anyones mind change when my report card has no As, 5 b+s and a b, across the past 6 semesters i only had 7 b+s, either 0, 1 or 2 a semester, with rest As.

Are adcoms gonna see as much of a downward trend as im freaking about? (should i plead with teachers and beg for A's?...im probably going to try that wihtout any success anyway) does this alter cahnces significantly?

your Standarized scores are solid, and AP scores are great. As long as your rank doesn't change significantly, i think adcoms will factor in the increasing difficulty of your courses.

Because of the level of competition statistically that you face at Williams, Dartmouth, and especially at Princeton and Harvard, you need to make sure that your essay is outstanding because highly qualified applicants tend to be lacking when it comes to expression. Your admissions decision may depend on that essay. As far as Princeton and Harvard are concerned, at those two schools, acceptance is really based on luck. Not to say that an acceptance at Williams or Dartmouth is not based on luck, but at Princeton and Harvard, that luck is taken to the maximum.

bump for joy
