Now that the Jan 4 rush is over

I wouldn’t mind trading. I did PLME, so I had to write 4.

I don’t mind! To make this more organized, though, perhaps we could have a list or something? We could start one that’s formatted like how you send out PMs to a list of people, for most convenience.

However, I must say, I think just posting them in a/this thread would be much easier as well. I can imagine there’d be reservations about it, but University of Chicago kids do it every year already –> http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-chicago/164537-post-your-essay.html</a>
I think that would be great for both us getting feedback and as a reference for future generations of applicants. For one, it would make keeping track of PMs easier, and two, people who weren’t originally going to say anything may pop in and offer their opinions anyway (maybe if they were especially impressed, etc). More potential feedback!
I know there could be some nervousness about people stealing, but I think that A) that will probably not work out for them, as it won’t mesh with the rest of their app/profile/personality/other essays/history and may get them rescinded/expelled/blacklisted later, and B) it wouldn’t affect your app decision anyway.
So here’s a vote for just posting them. We could even start a special thread for it for future Brownie applicants to refer to. (I’d be glad to start it if others agree with the idea.)

I wouldn’t mind directly posting them either. Maybe wait a bit longer, though (since I’m still a bit paranoid  ).

You know what, Prussia! has a great point. Because Brown is still accepting late applications though, I’m going to wait maybe one or two more days and post an official “Post Your Essay” thread. In the meantime, we can continue PMing each other.

Here’s the consolidated list of people I’ve PMed already who have responded. I haven’t sent mine to people with less than 10 posts simply because I’m a little paranoid :P

Eh, not so sure. I did not like my essays all too much. :P

Ha ha, I’m new to the forum, but i’ve applied and sent in my app already. So no worries. But I figure that it might be a good idea to wait a few days.

The Crucible! I did too! was ur 2nd PLME essay long??

@etsunshine:

It was actually the shortest of my essays. xD I couldn’t find a way to make it longer without either repeating myself or spewing out stuff without substance, so I kept it concise.

Oh! I’m down!! I hope the essay from Arkansassy won’t disappoint! :)

i wouldn’t mind posting mine either but id rather wait a week first…maybe two just to be sure lol :)

I’ve no problem waiting, either, haha. It was just an idea that popped in my head. I think it would be really cool for future applicants to refer to.

Hopeful88, what is it about less than 10 posts to make you paranoid? Not that I blame you. (I’ve been visiting this site for a while but just recently signed up. Lazy? me thinks.)

warmheart, I’ve also read only two essays other than my own…I’m not too freaked, but I am curious what other people think of mine!

So is this thing gunna happen?

I’d be willing to start us off if people are actually still interested in doing this.
