I read something on the Wellesley site that made it seem as though there's no cable available in the dorm rooms. Is this really the case?

 But would it still be available in common areas?

Who cares? Cable is just 400 channels with nothing on. I've lived my whole life without it.

Plus, I hope you'd go to Wellesley for the education, not tv.

Well obviously...but I was curious anyway.

I think it's as valid a question as "Wait, no bike trails?" or "Wait, no ping pong club?" Anyway, I found a website that says they do have cable but not in the dorm rooms:
"Do we have cable TV?"
Yes, in three places; Molly's Pub and the third floor loft in Schnieder for public audiences, and the third is at our video head-end.

Edit: Oops, nevermind, I reread your original post and I guess you already knew this.

i used to be obsessed with tv. tv is actually healthy for you if you think about it though. tv allows me to turn off my brain, something i have quite alot of troulbe doing. its nice to give yourself a break once in a while, keeps you from having any stress related problems. that i know ive already at the age of 17 have developed. its sad really the amount of responsibility we tend to put on ourselves at such an age. and i know for wellesley girls this is especially true. i cant sleep sometimes though because i cant get my brain to shut off and stop thinking. melting your mind through tv feels nice. you should try it sometime before you give yourself an ulcer. =)

Yes, turning off your brain is very healthy and natural.
