Now what???

I applied for SLS, but was rejected. However, in the letter they sent me, they said i was qualified to compete and i would receive a candidate kit in august. What do i do from now until then? I realize i need to work on all the nomination stuff. I have scheduled to take the SAT again on 10 March, and the ACT on 14 April. Do i need to have those scores sent directly to them? What else do i need to do, if anything? Thanks in advance! This website is EXTREMELY helpful in answering questions; the application process is so confusing...

You're on the right track man. Go ahead and contact your Senators and Congressman. Send all your SAT/ACT scores to both USMA and the offices of your politicians. If you're interested in ROTC as a backup plan, start the application process for the 4-year scholarship as soon as school gets out. Remember: for all things USMA (and ROTC for that matter), earlier=better.

Oh, and by the way, don't worry about the SLS rejection. It's not a huge deal. I was rejected for SLS and got an appointment ten months later. I've heard that alot of kids who do get into SLS have no real interest in USMA, they just use it to build their list of credentials for other colleges.

Would you mind posting your credentials, future? Maybe PM me. I would like to compare mine to yours to see if i've actually got a chance :)
