NP grade in my major class. Grad school..?

Hi everyone,

I guess nobody remembers me anymore as I haven't been active here for maybe 2 years already. So, I'm graduating this quarter with a BA in Business Economics. For some reason I just made a stupid decision to take accounting classes which I don't need. I realized after the drop deadline had passed that I couldn't handle my courseload so changed the grading option for one of my accounting classes to P/NP. I have a 3.7 UD major GPA and a 3.8 overall with no NP's, and I'm graduating as a 3rd year. Since the class is listed under the econ department and is considered a UD major class, how bad will I look on grad school applications if I get an NP? I've heard that grad schools count that as an F. How do international grad schools treat P/NP grades? Thanks so much!!

I still remember you. I entered in Fall 2008. Are you doing the accounting emphasis major? Law schools count NPs as F. I’m not sure about PhD programs though. Are you looking to apply to PhD Economics programs or MBA programs or law programs or something different?

Also do you use AIM, Yahoo IM, or MSN or any IM?

any way of retaking it?

You can retake it if you change your graduation to summer and if it is offered in the summer. Also can you cancel your declaration to graduate once you declared it?

@chaospaladin: wow cool you remember me. I’m not doing the accounting emphasis, so this class is unnecessary. and I mainly use MSN (feel free to add me raburetta@msn.com)

I’m looking to apply for business and related master programs in Sweden and/or Finland, not necessarily MBA.

I’m still waiting to see my midterm score >_<… I just hope that I did ok enough to still have a chance of passing the class, so I’ll try to study hard for the final to get a P…
