<p>It would be interesting no doubt but complicated because the NPC are based on self reported inputs while actual financial aid is based on Profile and supporting documentation for the private colleges that tend to give gift money. Most FAFSA only schools are fairly transparent about their score based gift money. I know in my case Lafayette and Buckenll came in with totally NOT believable low numbers last year off the NPC. It was laughable. I would have gift wrapped him and shipped him to orientation with a gigantic bow and a thank you note had he attended one of those and had they billed me what their net price calculator said. I know how colleges will package my kids after going through it twice and have a ton of sympathy for the first timers. I still think that if the kids have a financial safety school where parents know they can afford, then everything else is gravy.</p>
