<p>Generally, there wont be any freshmen joining a female NPHC. I know it happens in the male NPHC's. The Sigma's had a couple freshmen at their coming out. At UF, the most popular female is the Delta's and AKA's. To give you an example, the Delta's had ~20 girls come out (which is big). AKA's had like 25/26. As for joining, you basically have to either make friends with them or you can contact the membership coordinator and say you are interested. I am not sure if this is still true, but I heard there were a lot of Delta's on the BSU eboard and cabinet. My only issue I had with the NPHC was that its seemed more about popularity, esp when it came to the guys. But there are a few that get really involved. The current student body treasurer is the president of the Kappa's. The past president (or she might of been VP) is know at FSU medical school. There are some on PREVIEW staff and some in SG. For what its worth, I had a friend come out as a Delta and she seems to like it.</p>

<p>The females, from what I have notice, tend to pledge and come out in spring. It might be difficult since you would be coming in spring, but you never know. Just let someone know you are interested really early on.</p>

<p>thanks for all the info it was greatly appreciated!!.. since u know alot about the deltas and the aka's i wanted to know in ur opinion which one is better in terms of serving the community and being active on campus. Also do you know anything about the hazing? which sorority has it worse? and if i should be prepared to shell out some money for either one..i know there are fees and such but are there ne other things ill need to pay for?</p>
